Because one college coach wanted a raise from Penn State and another just attention for his ego, the Eagles are being spurned?

Good point it is a coaching search and hopefully they will pick the right guy. The college guys got a fatter paycheck from their schools and Kelly is a loop job, let him stay in the wilderness, good post and to the point.

Please be so kind and check your facts. The story that the coach got an increase in salary from a rich donor turned out to be false. He did not get any increase in salary.

i guess 5 other teams did too??? maybe they are hiring someone in the playoffs bc league rules state you cant hire a guy thats in the playoffs, you can only talk to them. Sometimes i wonder why these writers have jobs.

TPizza good enough for me. Offense netted zero Lombardi trophies. Let's emphasize more D with a young QB and 4 good runners. Find some big receivers for red zone and blocking. Get a new secondary with back ups and we go to battle.

glove69, thank you. The way these writers act, you would think that there were only two candidates in the universe, period. Let's give it a rest for a whil, please.

who wants to coach a bunch of stiffs - player personnel decisions over the past five years have been pitiful.

Take your time Jeff lets do it right, Ray Rhoades was a good choice who self destructed after two seasons he did leave a foundation for Reid to build on and Reid was so so on his draft picks but the team was good and we all wanted more, and he was here about three seasons too long. Any coach who comes in will have to do the roster to his liking. A new coach will get a hands off owner and a GM who will not be a factor and he will have the last say on players, he will be in a great market with great loyal fans who are passionate about football and any coach who does not want to come here with this set up is a loser in training and should go to some milk toast town and not Philly, we are though but lovable go Eagles.

Amazing that sports reporters get paid to put a bunch of nothing and speculation in the paper. Is training camp starting next week or something? Better to take your time and interview a lot of people and make the right choice.

I can't wait till next year to read the comments about how much everybody misses Andy and the talk about the good old days of losing the NFC championship games and what a great quarterback McNabb was compared to the garbage we have now.FLY BEAGLES FLY, love the gold standard

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
