umm.. who spurned them? has an offer been made? kinda misleading headline (I know. shocking). Says here nothing happens until the Eagles do what they said last week they intended: conduct a thorough search. That would include the folks they won't be able to talk to for another month.

What serious coach would want to be working with (for) Pee Wee Roseman? As long as Pee Wee is in place, nobody can take this team seriously.

Maybe they can see that the Eagles' future is destined to be mediocre.

I'm worried that Daily News hasn't found any real sports writers to cover the Eagles and NFL and only has some oddball hacks who sit around the bar somewhere and post Foxy Newsy "just say'in" troll questions on blogs before going back to their beer.

How about some well researched, journalism on the coaches available. How they'd fit Eagles situation.

Howie is signing all of these off season free agent stiffs and the potential coach's are seeing this as a sign of what coaching here would be like, who are these guys the Eagles are signing anyway.

I agree. In my opinion Howie Boy is not qualified recruit talent to play on by local pop warner under 150lb squad. If Roseman and Lurie think the Eggos can win a Super Bowl by continuing to sign free agents like Nomdi (afriad to tackle) and Cromartie (like to go for the pump fake) and draft undersized Wideouts like D. Jackson (Sean I love you but your undersized and are too short to catch a Fade Pass when the offense is inside the RedZone) and draft this wakadoodle safteys and linebackers, and sign Dlineman who are past their primes despite the fact they were on teams that won Superbowls (talking about you no sack Colin Jenkins) then Eggos fans are gonna soon be wishing for the days of the likes of Rich Kotite. First move after firing Andy Reid should have been firing Howie Roseman and hiring a seasoned vet/exec to do Player/Personel drafting and free agent signings. Roseman does not have a clue.

Wow, rich, you in a rush to write more dumb columns? Seven coaches fired, ony two positions filled. That means four teams other than the Eagles are still looking as well. Are they being spurned, too?

The Eagles aren't the only team that hasn't hired a new coach. I believe at this point only the Bills and Chiefs have hired someone. The Chargers, Browns, Cardinals, and Bears are still in the hunt and may soon be joined by the Jaguars.

Expect a decade of musical coaches and QB's before this team returns to relevance.

Agree that no coach wants to come to a city with the lowest IQ fans in the NFL...

How would you like to have to work closely with Pee Wee Herman, I mean Roseman? Don't let Pee Wee turn off the lights in the film room!

Why? Because they aren't the "gold standard" they believe they are and claim to be. Never have been, never will be.

Jaworski and Vermeil both endorse Chucky. Make the call already, Lurie.

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
