Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!

What do you not remember about Lurie and Roseman both saying they would take time to find the right coach and not rush into a decisione? Fuggin media always trying to concoct stories or put words into peoples mouth's for the sake of a story...way too much reading between the lines...News flash Andy is gone maybe what Lurie says is what he will do. Chip was not the best choice out there anyway. Bradley's D really laid the wood to RG3 and the skins. FWIW he should be the next coach. Give the team a defensive image again. Offense ruled the regular season but scores of the 1st 4 games in playoffs are 32,33,34 and 38. Remember why the Patriots lost two titles to the Gmen? Defense wins championships.

    "Defense wins championships."

umm, no it doesn't, at least not in the 21st century. look at the past three champions...all offensive juggernauts: giants, packers and saints

Although the NYG were ranked 25th in pts/g with 25 (no that is not a typo, 25 pts/g ranked 25th), barely squeaking into the playoffs, they were ranked #1 in the post season allowing only 14 points per game. The Packers defense was ranked #2 in the regular season in 2010 (tied for 2nd in post season with 19 pts/g), so I'm not sure what your point was there. You are correct with the Saints, who were ranked 20th in the regular season and 6th (of 12) in the post season.

Good TEAMS win championships. It takes both offense and defense.

"Bradley's D really laid the wood to RG3 and the skins."

    ---

Except for the first two drives when they were absolutely shredded. Then RGIII got hurt and could barely walk let alone run an NFL offense. That would probably be the main reason that Bradley's D 'laid the wood' to the 'Skins.

So what? They made the adjustment and pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. RG3 threw for what 80 yards? Please.

Also, they had the #1 scoring defense in the NFL for the year. Are you seriously trying to downplay that D?

Go check what they did to Green Bay. They beat New England too.

If this guy Bradley isnt a great option, I dont know what is...

How about the fact the Niners scored 26 points against them in 2 games? The Pack got 12. They gave up >20 points just 5 times all year. That good enough?

Defense wins championships, except when it doesn't, like when GB won in 2010. Or NO in 2009. Or when defense doesn't even make the playoffs, like in 1991 when the Eagles had the best defense in all major categories but couldn't manage a wild card without Randall or a useful running game.

    good point.
I think the Steelers had the top ranked defense this year.
and lost to Cleveland, San Diego, Tennessee, Oakland, Dallas, Cincy . . . .

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
