A crushing loss. An impossible loss.

Another NFC Championship Game, gone.

The Eagles, torched early, came back. Down 24-6 at the half against the Arizona Cardinals, left seemingly for dead, they rallied and took a 25-24 lead with 10 minutes, 45 seconds left to play. Donovan McNabb threw for a million yards in the second half. They had done the unlikely.

And then the Cardinals drove down the field on them, again. They droves for 72 yards and the go-ahead touchdown, made the two-point conversion, and led by 32-25 with 2:53 left to play. The Eagles had one more shot, but couldn't make it happen. And now they are left with an incredible wound. They showed up late, took back the game, and then lost in the end. Crushing.

It is hard to find any perspective here. Maybe later. Right now, it is just stunning -- a great game but a great fall, the team's fourth loss in five conference title games and  their third as a favorite.

Yes, crushing.

Made even more crushing by the ref's no call on pass inference.

Can't blame McNabb for this one, but I'm sure all the typical a'hole fans will start immediately below this post. The fault falls to the defense that didn't know the game started at 12:05pm PST. Then, after they incredibly took the lead in the 4th quarter, let that b!tch Cinderella once again drive down the field and wrest the title from them. How many times will that wh@re beat the Birds??? Tampa, Carolina, New Orleans, ...now 'Zona.

This one's on the D. When you hand a rested D the lead in the 4th you expect to win. Giving up 32 points is a disgrace.

Brian F, Im no ahole fan, I've never talked poorly on mcnabb, but this one is ALL on him. He missed 5 or 6 receiver in stride for potentially big plays. People will blame akers, people will blame reid, people will blame the "sub par" receiving corp, but this one was all McNabb

Can't totally blame McNabb and Reid... this was a well deserved choke for the whole team. D couldn't make a stop when they needed. Offense couldn't make a play when they needed it. Hell, even Akers looked bad. Terrible loss!!!

Agree with maximusd with the exception that I don't think you move on, I think you get a WR in here, unload LJ Smith, and find a big cornerback. Otherwise they have a good team in place and there's no need to wipe it all away. Be careful what you wish for - or do you forget the Hoying/Pederson years already?

Another game where Reid was outcoached. McNabb did make a nice comeback, but he really blew it in the first quarter. The d game up small when it counted the most. I really do believe NcNabb deserves a new contract, just not in Philly. Arrivederchi.

All I can say to you Eagles fans that kept coming onto the NY Post website for the last week, "IN YOUR FACE". Yeah baby! That was sweet. Don't blame the refs for no pass interference call, blame them for not getting the call right on the kickoff at the end of the 1st half. The Eagles are the biggest chokers this side of the NY Mets. Nice, time to drink some brews and laugh my ^%& off for the rest of the night because the Eagles choked, again. SWEEEEEEEEEET!

Can't blame Donovan? huh? Did he not miss a number or receivers, including 2 in the last possession (Jackson and Avant) that would of given them a first down? Donovan played well in spurts, but, in the end, it ends like 3 of the last 4.

I agree with Brian F, you can't blame McGarbage for his second half performance, but a pretty putrid showing in the first half no doubt. Also, Reid called a decent game and the offense moved the ball well in the second half. Yup, the defense inexplicably didn't show up in the first half, and for one drive in the second, and that's why we lost. Lets just hope Reid continues the good momentum from the end of this season, and has a solid draft on the offensive side of the ball. Peace out till summer '09.

What a friggin joke!! This game was fixed! Jason Avant got mugged inside the ten yard line on a 3rd down play and no call. Pass interference on Curtis is obvious. Block in the back on the go ahead touchdown and Trent Cole got held on almost every pass play. Fitzgerald gets a TD after knocks Demps over on a push off. The NFL is a joke!! I thought that I was watching Pittsburgh being handed a Lombardi trophy all over again. On the positive Mcnabb and Reid will break through at some point bc we have a really good young team.

The Eagles should have blitzed more at the start of the game. They dropped too many passes. McNabb missed some open receivers. Westbrook didn't do much. The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Demps has my vote for Most Stupid Penalty of the Year. Other than that, I'm just stunned that our team has now lost 4 conference championships. It looked like the Eagles' D had the wrong game plan in the first half. Another thing: What is Greg Lewis doing on the field in this game??

Please...stop this McNabb/Reid hating NOW! You haters had your say at 5-5-1. We weren't supposed to get this far. Nobody likes this feeling, but reading this 'haterade' just proves what everybody outside of the Delaware Valley believes about so-called Eagles fans. I'm in Orlando, and if some of you cynics could see the love that groups like Tampadelphia over in the Bay Area have for this organization...oh hell, why am I wasting my keystrokes trying to change feeble minds? Think and say what you will...#5 is my dude, Reid is OK with me, and this team will be back again. PS to the haters: if the Eagles and the upper management decisions are so bad, why not just find another team to support? I'm sure TO and the Cowgirls would love to have you rootin' for them out of market or wherever the hell you are.

Blame Larry Fitzgerald and Kurt Warner for this which means look to the Eagles "D". Fitzgerald beats Brown once in single coverage for TD, then two more times- where the ###L was the adjustment. Kurt Warner looked like Tom Brady in the first half sitting back in the pocket all day to throw- where was the defense that beat Dallas, the Vikings and the Giants. Somebody put out the APB for that defense-where did that defense go in the first half?

This loss is on the entire team...defense, offense and kicking. Some key misques cost them the win (dropped passes, kicks out of bounds/missed FG and EP, some poor passes, sleepy D at times, having to use a time out too early, etc). To win, a team must execute each and every play like it is the last. Great comeback and too bad the D could not hold for one more series. I did think the non-calls were in the favor of the home team BTW.

I agree with Brian F. The last time I looked, McNabb wasn't covering Larry Fitzgerald or rushing the passer in the first half. If you are as bad as the Cardinals were for that long, your bound to get some good draft picks. The Eagles lost the game, not Donovan McNabb. Did he give up the winning touchdown drive after the Eagles took the lead? Has any Philadelphia team had as much playoff success as the Eagles in the past 10 years?

Once again, McNabb comes up really small in a really big game. He may be the best QB Philly has ever had, but he is not on par with the best in the NFL. Wildly inaccurate.

Hate to say it but the defense laid an egg when they needed to step up the most. Unfortunately, this was probably the last chance for the likes of McNabb and Dawkins to get to the Super Bowl. If it is, I tip my hat to them. They have made the last 10 years exciting and made this city proud. For all of those who disagree, just remember where this team was before Reid & Co. arrived: in the crapper. I can't wait for 2009!

To Philly Sports fans-- I know you like to beat up on Donovan but can't you realize he is the best thing to ever happen to football in your city? What other player would put up with being booed on draft day and still take his team to five NFC Championships in eight years. You are sick and bitter people. You don't know sports like New York fans and you lack the passion of Boston fans. You don't even have the grit of Chicago fans and you lack the style of L.A. fans. Y'all might as well live in Kansas City. When all that your "fan base" is known for is throwing snowballs at Santa, cheering when Michael Irvin hurt his neck and needing a court and jail in you arena because you are a bunch of grotesque animals then that say something. McNabb threw a high pass over the middle to an open receiver in the fourth quarter, another that was behind the receiver earlier in the game. Ok, now let's look at the drops. Off the top of my head, you had Kevin Curtis missing a decent ball on a possible interference play. Desean Jackson had a drop. Jason Avant dropped a perfectly thrown ball on a crucial third down. Hank Baskett dropped a well thrown, crucial pass in the fourth quarter. I'm sure I'm missing a couple too.

This is NOT on McNabb. He played his heart out in the second half, leading TD drives from the 10 and 14. This is on Jim Johnson's inexplicable decision to NOT blitz on that final AZ drive. The blitz is what got the Eagles back in the game. How do you NOT blitz? This is ALL on Jim Johnson, NOT Reid OR McNabb.

How does Andy Reid and McNabb go on. I mean really, this game was on Akers back (and the Defense in two key plays, the end of the half letting them get that cheap field goal, and not stopping them on 3rd and 9 when they scored that touchdown). Plus, how is Demps a starting safety and how does Hank Baskett get on the field at all?

How can you blame Akers for this one? He missed a 47 YARD field goal and ONE extra point. Last time I checked, that was 4 points. They lost by SEVEN. Maybe if McNabb could have actually found one of the MANY receivers he failed to see, Or threw the ball in front of a guy instead of behind him (or at his feet), OR didn't throw for the interception, OR didn't fumble the ball, we would have won!

Get a WR for McNabb. The one and only time he had a WR they went to the Superbowl. It's phenomenal that he has the career number he has when he's never had a WR. I don't think Jackson is going to be the #1 they're looking for. A nice 2 or 3, absolutely. Trade both 1st rounders if you have to but get a WR in here next year - there's maybe 2 or 3 years left, if that. Oh and it's painfully obvious that we need a big CB in here, a Bobby Taylor type. Otherwise, the team is actually looking good. Nice youth on the defense. Some age at the O tackles. Get rid of LJ, Celek is clearly the man. People that think we should get rid of Reid and McNabb are morons.

This loss is on the folowing three things: 1) DEFENSE - outplayed and outcoached - Akeem Jordan was terrible 2) Andy Reid - inability to pick/draft athletes on the defensive line and linebacker, and lack of a fullback and offensive line. 3) Offensive line/fullback inability to pick up the blitz Simple as that. All things lead to Andy. Peace It's as simple as that.

Giantsize: Congrats on starting 11-1. Unfortunately the season isn't 12 games long and has a playoff. Anyway, starting 11-1 is a great gift to Giants fans. Enjoy. Oh yeah, too bad about Spagnuolo leaving. I'm sure the Giants will find someone better. Hope that whole Plaxico thing works out. Maybe you guys can trade him to the Cowboys.

Warner shreded our biltz. It seemed like there were quite a few times that the Cardinals had the screen pass to the side away from our blitz. They knew it was coming. Out coached in the 1st half. McNabb was not sharp for most of the game. They looked a little worn down to me. Don didn't win the game with an outstanding game and Celek, Curtis, Jackson tried to pick it up. A lot went on but I was most disappointed about the amount of plays that were poorly executed. Too many mistakes and that they could control. They couldn't control the fact that the Cardinals made some good play calling. They knew that they'd complete passes and score. A veteran team should have executed better after the run they had. It sure would be nice to watch the Eagles in the playoffs as a team that had a Super Bowl win. Too stressful going through this. Jackson creating the turnover after the interception was incredible. Akers: Ugh. You wonder if those points would have put a little more pressure on the Cardinals in the 4th. A 5 point lead instead of a 1 point lead. Those bad McNabb passes in the 1st half when receivers were wide open and his pass broke their stride: What was that all about after the lazers in the past few games? Untouched, feet set, clear passing lane, 6 yard pass and he's not even close. Where was the run defense in the 1st half? Bottom line: Cardinals executed more plays. It was a very, very interesting season. How many more chances are in Runyon, Thomas, Westbrook, Dawkins?

Unfortunately sports are really compromised by umpires, referees etc. Ask the Titans! Ask the Eagles! I have watched more games then all of the beatwriters in this town. There has to be a better way to avoid these glaring shortcomings. The Titans watch as a time clock is at zero for two seconds and the play turned out to be the play of that game prior to the winning field goal. Kevin Curtis was blatantly interfered with on that last play. It should not matter what happen in the game prior to that play. The defensive back fell on his foot, ankle and knee. They simply can not keep their jobs when they are so poor. THERE HAS TO BE BE A BETTER WAY!!! For all teams in all sports. The shortcomings of the officiating changes sports history and has done so since sports began. It makes the games seem fraudelent and useless. All cities and teams experience it and that is why things must change. My final questions: DO YOU THINK THAT REFEREE WOULD HAVE THROWN THAT FLAG IN PHILADELPHIA? YEAS HE WOULD! There is something wron with that.

Hopefully this will be the end of the McNabb era. He is not a championship caliber quarterback. The Defense carried this team this far and all the offense had to do was pick them up today. The chances were there, McNabb did not get it done. That is the bottom line. Will it happen? Probably not as long as the fans are willing to pad Luries pockets.

The Eagles' D laid a turd today. When the score was 25-24, they had to force a punt. I can't see how anyone who watched the first half can credibly put this loss at McNabb's feet. He wasn't stellar, but I thought he played decent. Did you miss that Greg Lewis drop on a perfectly thrown bomb? Think Fitzgerald would've dropped that?

Yes, I can blame McNMabb for this one. When the Cardinales were down, Warner drove them down the field for the go ahead touchdown AND the two point play. With 2:53 left Donovan took over and failed again as he always does in the big ganes. Have you have enough Philly?

Come on folks..... McNabb is terrible under pressure. We've seen this same game over and over again. All his passes were forced, over-thrown, or under-thrown. The D deserves some of the blame.... no way you can let an opponent get 24 1st half points and expect a win. But WHY WHY WHY did they not run the ball on 2nd and 10 with 2:06 left???? The 2 minute warning would have stopped the clock and Arizona would have given up at least 8 yards. But NO!!! Reid still cannot deliver a game winning strategy and the tools he has only proves it! As a Philadelphian I felt embarrsed watching that 1st half. And on national TV as the only game made it worse. Now is the best time to pick up a coach that can change the failure and disappointment we will continue to experience with the current crowd. Let's move on!

Before you read this I want to warn you it's going to sting....OK. As much as we want to bash QB5 for not stepping up, we need to cast a critical eye on defensive QB20. We needed a safety to step up and show some guts on Fitz. Dawk was two seconds late every time and then barked at the CB who was waiting for him to be there at the time the ball arrived. Our O played with guts. The D played like cowards. Won't matter though. It's easier to blame Reid and McNabb.

As an Eagle fan I want to start pointing fingers, but let's face it three week ago this team was written off. So that being said it was a fun ride, heart breaking, but still fun. And before the turn around that started on Thanksgiving, I too was calling for Reid and McNabb's heads, but we need to get real and look at the last ten years. There are teams and citys that would gladly trade places with us. Do we deserve a Super Bowl? Absolutly, but getting rid of Ried and McNabb isn't going to get us one any time soon. Kevin Kolb isn't the answer no matter who coaches him. Mabe the Eagles will finaly realize that we need a legit running back and a big time receiver, and until we get that we'll never win the big one's, no matter who's coaching or throwing the ball. Considering the talent or lack their of that we do have, they did a great job. Better luck next year!

Blaming is pointless. So is whining. All the players and coaches might have done better. But they didn't. The Cards outplayed the Eagles and deserve to go to the Super Bowl. But the Eagles rallied in the end, and almost pulled it off - perhaps that is the metaphor for this entire season. It was a great playoff run. Almost as importantly, we destroyed Dallas and those sore losers, the NY Gnats. This was a paralyzing loss, but I'll get over it. And so will they. And I'll never stop being an Iggles fan.

The posters who defend McNabb by saying stuff like "would you rather have Eli Manning" are missing the point. No, I wouldn't rather have Eli Manning, and no sane person would. The person I'd rather have may not even be in the league yet -- you might have to draft him. Maybe his name is Tim Tebow or Sam Bradford, or maybe another college QB. Or maybe it's Kolb. The point is that McNabb is what he is -- a good but not great quarterback who comes up small in big games -- and after a fourth loss in five NFC title games nobody with a grain of honesty can say he's something else. I'd rather call it a day with him and see if we can't develop a young QB into a winner. The analogy would be Bobby Abreu with the Phillies -- nice ballplayer but with a limited upside.

Bill, you have a selective memory. I remember a perfectly thrown bomb down the sideline to Greg Lewis that he dropped. In the Giants game an almost identical pass bounced off Kevin Curtis' facemask. Avant dropped a well thrown ball over the middle that would have gone for around 20 yards. Westbrook had a drop on the last possession. Hank Baskett had a drop on the second to last possession. Those are just a few on the top of my head. Anyway, it's hard to win when you allow 32 points.

It was a good game and everyone stepped up in my opinion. The difference came down to Warner- a great quarterback- getting it done when McNabb- a pretty good QB- didn't, in a game that came down to which QB would strike last.

If you guys to stick with mcmediocre (i hope you guys do, because you'll never win) you need to relocate or rename your team. How's about to Manilla, you could be the "Manilla Folders" you could be the "Tinmen" because you have no heart, or you could relocate to Napa. That team and your fanbase would be perfect in Whine Country. I was thinking about going to McDonalds for a McTurnover but I bet their stale. You guys deserve each other.

Face it- Look at Andy Reid's track record of run/pass ratio when falling behind in playoff games...That is the reason you don't and will NEVER win as long as he is your coach. As long as Reid is HC it is obviously advantage NYG, DAL & WAS. Admit it. And rgreen72- YEAH! I'd rather have Eli as my QB bc I am more concerned with Lombardi Trophys than NFC runner-up finishes!!!

This has nothing to do with jealousy, this has everything to do with reality. You guys are a bunch of whiners and spoiled to a point where you don't even know a good thing when you got it. As a lifelong eagles fan and realist, I knew Curt and company with their superior coaching, QB and supporting cast would once again relegate EAGLES NATION to say "would have, could have, should have" again! I was so confident that this Eagles team is the B-team in the NFL. We have dead weight on the team...the Coach and an average receiving core have dashed our hopes once again. Suckers again! I bet and won $1000 by taking the Cardinals QB's superior execution and genetics to make me happy and lucky today. So as long as the owner leaves this average team the same it will be SSDD next year when the Detriot Lions win a sbowl before we do! Pick another team as your backup plan and grow up...GO FLYERS, PHILLIES, SIXERS!!!!!

No way this is on McNabb - he missed a couple but so what they all do, even Peyton. We shouldn't have been so far behind and that's on the D and very specifically poor tackling. That cost us most - how can you bottle up the G-men backs and then have Edgerrin run to the outside on you? Asante is soft. And Lito must be doing something real bad to be behind Sheldon. But the fact is, if you add the 4 missed kick points we need a FG on the last drive and get hosed on the 4th down - which would have put us at their 29 with 1.40 to go. Watch the game again - more drops and bad routes than bad throws and that goes to AR thinking he could win a championship with B grade WRs (and Greg Lewis).

If Akers makes his extra point and Quentin Demps get a routine tackle on Hightower at the 2, this is a completely different game. Two simple things the Eagles couldn't do right. When you don't do the little things, its hard to win.

When some of you bring up the no-call on that 4th down pass I want to scream. First of all, it wasn't even pass interference. Even if was it was questionable at best. Is that the reason the mighty Eagles got beat today? No!! If their defense was all it was cracked up to be they wouldn't have given up 32pts and let the Cardinals drive the field to score a TD and a 2 pt conversion to win the game.

Guys like p-diddy who absolve McNabb of blame because the team was down 24-6 either didn't watch the game or have gotten to used to the Eagle "D" being stout (or Tavaris Jackson-like opponent QB play). In the first half both teams had several opportunities for big plays. Warner and the Cards hit theirs, McNabb's inaccurate passes left the Eagles to settle for field goals. #5 is a complimentary player here. He managed the last two games well when the defense was dominant, but he isn't going to pull out any offensive battles for you. I don't think he ever has. That all being said, today was his best playoff performance ever. Unfortunately he is no Warner.

All these choke comments are silly. When the Eagles were winning and McNabb had bad stats, the D carried them. But when the D stinks and McNabb throws for 375 yds, 3 TD, and runs for 31 yds, McNabb is a choker. The bottom line is the Eagles lost. Everybody (including McNabb) could have played better. But to point the blame all on McNabb shows that you cats have no football IQ.

The Eagles playoff record against the Giants in that span is 2-1. Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl ring. Marino never won a SB. But I'll take McNabb over Manning no question.

Jeff Lurie is to blame because he never spent money on a wide receiver. Everyone from Philly to Cali knows what the Eagles have needed nine years ago, a wide receiver whom can make the pro bowl. Typical Eagles game, dropped passes, special team mess ups, and inconsistent play calling. Hey Jeff, we could have had FITZGERALD if you weren't so tight, and could have been in the superbowl if it wasn't for your incompetent management.

The defense did not step it up like they have for the past 6 weeks true, but the offense did not pick them up like they did for the offense. Bottom line, McNabb does not win the big games. He had a good stretch in the 2nd half after a very dismal 1st half. When the game was on the line he did what he usually does, come up short.

For all of you challenging football iq about blaming McClownavan not the defense are wrong. Let me ask you this. How many opportunities did McSidelines have to score when Warner and the Cards were on offense. NONE. Your offense KEEPS the other teams offense off the field. Your's didn't so YES I can blame McSidelines. It's hard to score when the other team has the ball and DOESN'T turn it over like your McFumble. So please don't bring up football IQ. Plain and simple.... outcoached. Ten years working with the same QB/ coach tandem and they still can't manage to not lose a timeout because of clock issues. The Cards came out with a game plan that we did not adjust to until the second half, and then they re-adjusted again and worked down the field before we could adapt. Too bad there are not more half-times. Why can't McNabb hit a receiver in stride more than once or twice a game, or figure out when to throw the ball out of bounds instead of into the ground? Rookie QBs can do that. That said, McNabb is easily a league top five QB, but how can he come out cold in a game of this importance? Celek was a bright spot... has shown he is a gamer and hopefully LJ the door...

Akers and D take the blame for this one. If Akers makes his FG and the extra point, its actually 5 more points for the Eagles. They would have had to drive down for a FG to win the game. 32 points by D against is a disgrace. Not going to blame McNabb and O for this one. McNabb gave them a 4th quarter lead, and Dawk and D didn't hold it up. This one's more on them and Akers.

The Eagles didn't show up until the third quarter ... two quarters of poor defense, sloppy offense and ho-hum special teams. Where were Reid, Mornhinweg and Johnson for the first 30 min of play?

Defense couldn't keep the score down (how many games do you win when you give up 32 points?) or get a stop on 4th and inches or 3rd and goal from the 8. They had trouble covering the screen pass. Kicker came up small. McNabb missed open recievers (Jackson on 2nd and 10, Baskett on 3rd and 10 was a really bad throw). This is a bad loss but I can't say it's any worse than the other 3 conference title game losses or the Superbowl loss. A loss is a loss is a loss. I thought the season was over when we lost to Washington so at least we got to play 4 more meaningful games.

that was pass interference on the Curtis play, however in the first half, that was a BS call on the kickoff/out of bounds part. So both teams got a 2nd chance. You can't really be gay and say McNabb is a huge choke artist, yada yada yada. He played a solid game, led the team to a nice comeback in the 2nd half. That 10 yard sneak was money. People were going nuts then, but because he didn't win I guess he is the one to blame. Even on the passing interference on Curtis, he still should have had that ball. Same with Hank Baskett and Greg Lewis with bad plays. Akers missing an extra pointer and also missing that field goal, which then resulted in one of Fitzgerald's touchdowns really hurt. The defense not being able to stop Warner in the first half really hurt. The whole team lost that game. If McNabb doesn't come back next year, I see a 4th place finish in our division. And to the Giant fans, to say something like choke artists, um yeah way to win 12 games in the regular season and lose in your first playoff game at your home. Not just that, but way to call yourselves the New York Giants and play in the armpit of America, North Jersey.

What happened to all those Super Bowl bandwagons. Oh that's right the lost again. McNabb, Reid and the oh so great defensive guru, Jim Johnson, 1-4 in NFC championship games, 0-1 in Super Bowls. All you Eagle fans can sit around and talk about this bad call, or missed extra points or whatever. This team reminds me of another team you fans loved that overrated 1991 Eagles squad, with that idiot coach and so called monster defense, that never won anything either!

Maybe Kurt Warner will buy McNabb a ticket to the SB.

Good grief, Clownwolf. You are such a tool. So you'd take Eli over McNabb because McNabb lost in the NFC title game, even though McNabb beat Eli straight up in the divisional game? Good work.

The Eagles lost as a team. Didn't make plays on either side of the ball when they had to. On the other side of the field, Kurt Warner was lights out today. He was the difference. He outplayed McNabb, and he beat us.

"Can't blame McNabb for this one, but I'm sure all the typical a'hole fans will start immediately below this post." I usually one to stand up for McNabb and chide the fans for being ridiculous, but not on this one. McNabb and the defense are the 2 reasons for this loss. In that last drive to go back ahead he missed badly on receiver after receiver. In a clutch situation he choked, for lack of a better word. And unfortunately throughout his career in these types of situations he has always come up small. In short, he is good enough to get you to the Super Bowl, but he's not good enough to win it on his own, which is what separates the good QB's from the great ones.

p-dud I understand your point about division record over the last 11 seasons. I get it! Us Giants fans don't care about things such as division/regular season records. In fact, Giants fans know that it doesn't matter if your regular season is an undefeated 16-0! Remember?!? FOOL!!

You cannot blame Mcnabb or Reid for this one. If anything, blame Jim Johnson or the defense; they were awesome in the second half but choked at the most important moment of the year.

hey ms. lakersbruinsno1: first of all, McNabb is a proven leader with no pro bowl wr since he has been drafted to throw to. McNabb is a man of character and if he had a Fitzgerald to throw to he would have won superbowls and mvps. second of all, you are from LA and you do not have a football team because you don't know how to be a fan and so you are not allowed to make comments, however if you went to a real college football school we Philly fans would consider you commenting but you don't go to USC, you go to UCLA so please, enough with your garbage. If you have anything else to say, give us your phone number and we can have a meeting in Westwood, how about the Starbucks by the theater.

the defense allowed 24 points in the first half. Too big of a hole to dig out of. Will the Eagles ever get a top notch receiver for McNabb to throw to? We saw in the first half what it means to have a grade-A receiver on your team. Don't blame McNabb for this one.

Does About.com have a section on smack-talking? I do not understand how Cards fans would know how to do it when their team has sucked FOREVER.... Did you guys normally practice on each other during post-seasons past?

ms. lakersbruisno1: by the way lakers fan, kobe is from philly. we welcome you now to become a philly eagles fan, just don't be one of the many uneducated ignorant overdemanding fans. McNabb has carried this offense without a pro bowl wide receiver to five nfc championships, what more can you expect from a man.

born and raised in phila.. now living in maryland but still an eagles fan but i am sorry to say.. its the same old story... for example... stats are funny somtimes they are misleading... what the stats will not show is that mcnabb had good numbers.. but he could not pull off a drive when he absoutely needed it.. and the defense played well but when the team needs possibly one last 3 and out and then a couple of first downs by the eagle offense and the game would have went the eagles way... but again.. here is a meaningful stat..... which is not misleading... reid and mcnabby have this record.... in their entire tenure together... the 6 biggest games they both faced...5 nfc championship games and one super bowl... here it is ... record 1 win.. 5 losses... that stat is beyond a doubt the TELLING STAT...

If the Eagles left town and the NFL awarded Philadelphia a new franchise, people would forget about the Eagles and their awful legacy. The Philadelphia Stars, with QB Chuck Fusina, RB Kelvin Bryant, WR Scott Fitzkee, head coach Jim Mora, and the Doghouse Defense, were much more enjoyable to watch than the Eagles.

Seriously though, don't blame the man who has the monumental task of carrying your team squarely on his shoulders. No one football player is good enough to carry a team to a title alone. Donovan should be appreciated for his efforts because he carried your sorry team this far and had no receivers, a mediocre run game, and a way overrated defense to support him. What do you expect?

lonewolf- 28-47, 375 yds 3 TDs, 1 INT and 31 rushing yds. How many QB could post those #'s with a rookie WR, and guys like Baskett? Okay, they fell short. But let's see if your boy, Big Red, gets a bona fide WR.

anyone that blames McNabb for this loss is f-ing clueless. For every innacurate throw he made he more than made up for it w/ perfect passes to curtis and Jackson Celek ect...Plus they way he kept his poise in the pocket down 24-6 w/ 80,000 fans all over him was phenomenal. It sucks that philly lost it sucks the curtis,tripped-slipped on 4th and 10. But no run game shaky D cost the game.Without Mcnabbs calm presence and big play abiity this game was a blow out..

Dull
McNabb is great under little or no pressure but ask him to lead the team on a two minute drive to win the game it will never happen. For this reason it is time to move on without him and find a quarterback with inner strength to lead this team and not one who masked his inner weakness with bouts of clownish behavior. .

And if you are going for a swim this evening your mom will not be happy. It's 52 degrees on my front porch right now. So take off your Mets cap,get on your jammies and get in bed. You've had a big day right ?? Do the Mets still field a team ??

My favorite thing to do after an Eagles loss is to listen to dopey Eagle fans make excuses for Wormball McNoodle and blame the defense. Or Reid. Enjoy another offseason with your last game ending in an "L"!! It's ok you'll get em next year.

The defense surely gets it's share of the blame for this loss (giving up 32 points), however, McNabb is the reason we lost. You can look to one play that would have changed the emotion of the game. Eagles down 7-3 first quarter Hank Baskett was wide open and made the catch for 19 yards but might still be running had McNabb hit Hank in stride and not throw the ball at his feet. The game would have been 10-7 Eagles and momentum is on our side. I give credit to McNabb for a heroic comeback but with the game on the line Donavan once again (1-4 in Championship Games, 0-1 in the Bowl) could not produce a winning drive. The Eagles had the ball on the Cards 47 yard line with 2:09 left in the game, plenty on time to score a touchdown and send the game into overtime. This is the time when the Tom Bradys and Joe Montanas seize the day and drive the rest of the field send the game to overtime and win the game. Yes Curtis feel down on the fourth down play but is should not have come to that. Once again McNabb on 1st and 10 threw the ball well behind Hank Baskett incomplete. If you look at the camera angle McNabb a clear throwing lane and missed the throw. People can talk all they want about having more weapons at wide receiver, and I'm all for it, but it doesn't mater if the quarterback does not execute. McNabb is very good regular season quarterback statistics tells he is the best the Eagles have had in their history. And Donavan does very well in the first and second round of the playoffs, however after watching him for 10 years I don't know if he has the make-up to win the Big Game?

All I know is Reid was hired to bring a championship to this town. It doesn't matter how far he gets every year, he is 0-10 in reaching his goal. Time for a change.

I am neither a Cardinals fan or a Eagles fan. I am however a fan of great football. This game was a game of great football play. It will be a classic for the football fan who understands what makes a game great. It had everything you want in a football battle. Quick offensive start, great defensive comeback, great offensive comeback,a great offensive answer at the end to win the game. What more can a fan want? This was a game played by two very good football teams and as an Eagles fan you should be proud of your team. To pin any player with blame is shortsided and frankly classless. The truth is the Eagles were in the playoffs by pure luck and then played its best football of the season in the playoffs. This alone is a great story to which you fans need to be proud of. Right now you need to get behind this team and show some pride. Without the talent of McNabb and his cast of professionals this game would have been a blowout. IT WAS A GREAT GAME! BE A GREAT FAN!
