Jimmy Rollins is not an all-star... thats a joke...even as a Phillies fan I say that it would be embarrassing if he is voted in... Good to see Raul is getting the love he deserves... Chooch has really turned it on too, and can be considered a back-up... but I would say.. 1B Pujols, 2B Chase, 3B Zimmerman, SS Tejada, C McCann, OF Ibanez, Braun, Beltran... Backups, 1B- Gonzalez, Howard, 2B- Hudson, 3B Chipper, SS- Ramirez, OF- Hawpe, Pence, Upton, Lee... SP- Santana.. Cain, Billingsley, Haren, Duke, Gallardo... RP- K-Rod, Hoffman, Bell, Cordero

Anyway they can keep Rollins’ mid-season stats from flashing up on the scoreboard when he goes up to bat during the All-Star game?

I will say this once more. Take a look at the stats of all the short stops this year. Rollins is not hitting the way he has in past years, but his defense is solid and there are NO National League short stops who are tearing up the league. He is as good a candidate as any.

Conig - You can't seriously believe that sportswriters will be objective, do you? They should NEVER be involved in anything that affects the players' pay. A great player (like Chase Utley, for example) who dislikes talking to reporters, would be at risk because some out of town reporter develops a hard nut for him. And don't forget the small market reporters, who are often barely disguised members of the local team booster clubs (you read the out of town papers, I assume). Some of those guys are practically cheerleaders! If the writers were so objective, why is there always controversy about the NCAA football writers polls?

steve you're righjt no one is "tearing it up" at SS in NL... however Tejada is leading the league in hitting... and Hanley ramirez is just better... the fact that Jimmy is a lead off hitter and he's hitting .222 with a .260 OBP just kills him... yes he's prob 1 or 2 in defense but you cant vote him 1st with those offensive numbers... in fact I'd prob vote least 5 other SS before him...

Since the All-Star Game "counts" let's vote for all of the Cleveland guys too.

Steve2181 how can you say in one post that Jose Reyes should not be within shouting distance of AS game and then say in another that Jimmy Rollins is as good a candidate as any. That sounds silly. Just showing Philly bias. Neither of them are all-stars, however if you had to take 1 of the 2 it would be Reyes. I hate the Mets too but lets be real.

Now we've got to get Victorino and Ruiz in the starting lineup. Pujols is untouchable. For all the years the Phils have been overlooked (frequently deservedly so) and for all the grief we've given just about every one of our players prior to Ibanez joining the team, they're the World [youknowwhat] Champs. I don't want to see any soft NL Central players in the starting lineup, and I definitely don't want to see Carlos Abreu - I mean BELTRAN. VOTE PEDRO while we're at it!

Easy answers to All-star oversights and ridiculously biased fan voting( REF: above voting for N.L. S.S.)simply do what baseball does every Sept.1 and expand the rosters. Let the fans continue to vote but give the ballot back to the players as well.If both fans and players vote in the same player ..fine. If not the players choice starts and the fans choice goes as a reserve. Is that so hard?????

You people are morons for voting for Rollins for the all-star game. I am so tired of the casual fans that go to games. If he makes it, and look slike he will, this would be horrible, not only for the league, but for Jimmy thinking that he is still awesome. I wish they would reveal that list of 100 names that were taking PED's. I'm pretty sure he is on it.
