Charlie Manuel says he doesn't want you to boo his team.
He says he was kidding.
He said, "I definitely didn't mean it." He was referring to something he said to reporters before Tuesday night's game. They were asking him why the team wasn't playing well at home and, at one point, he said, "Maybe (the fans) should get on us a little."
Now, after hearing the reaction to his comment, Manuel says he was "just being kind of off-the-wall, kind of. Maybe I was trying to be funny."
Apparently it wasn't, though. And after Wednesday night's loss, he was asked about losing at home and took an opportunity to take another swing at the topic.
"I was just throwing something out there, that maybe you wanted to laugh or that you thought was funny or whatever," Manuel said. "I won't do it anymore...I'll just answer yes and no. But believe me, I didn't mean (anything) about the fans...I love the fans. The fans shouldn't have to motivate our team."

- Us fans pay absurd amounts of money for this new ballpark to be crammed into the seats like cows. Seriously, the seats are WAY TOO SMALL and you are rubbing against your neighbors the whole time. That's the #1 reason why CB park is a pile of trash. If I'm going to pay 100 bucks to be crammed next to some fat drunken slob, I have the right to boo whenever I want. Maybe you're 400 pounds, and when you go to the game with your 300 pound wife you get a little too crammed in there... but for those of us that aren't obese slobs, the seats are perfect. CBP is an awesome park. Quit complaining just for the sake of complaining.— DrexelDragonFan

- brmorgan- CBP is a beautiful park. Your close to the park, seats, and food are not at a rediculious price. If your unhappy, go to Citi Field, or Yankees stadium and pay those prices. Otherwise, shut up, and give your tickets to someone who wants to be there.— phigglesfan75
