Eagles place a bet on the future, hire Chip Kelly
Eagles hire Chip Kelly
Eagles place a bet on the future, hire Chip Kelly
Rich Hofmann, Daily News Sports Columnist
Up off of the floor, then. A splash of cold water on the face and away we go. Chip Kelly is the new coach of the Eagles. The Gus Bus has left town, replaced by what Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie believes will be the laser-quick offense of the future.
You know it took a big bag of money to pry Kelly away from the clutches of the University of Phil Knight. So this is where the Eagles-are-cheap narrative goes to die an overdue, deserved death.
You know, too, that the Eagles are not settling here, and that they did not bungle their search, and that pretty much everything said and written in the last week about this process has been conversation in search of reality. Well, this is the reality: the guy they wanted all along -- or at least one of the guys, along with Penn State coach Bill O’Brien -- is now theirs.
People who loved the idea of Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley -- mostly because they heard him say “bleep” and yell at his player on a YouTube video -- could very well hate this. People who carry a fondness for old-style NFL football -- who wanted to rekindle something they last felt when Buddy Ryan coached this team -- and who disliked the way Andy Reid spent 14 years trying to outsmart people on offense, could also be in for a disappointment. Because the only certainty here is that Kelly plans to innovate on offense, and then innovate some more.
But in a league where you need to score 30 points even to think about winning most playoff games, and where the Patriots’ fastbreak offensive attack has helped to make them the even-money favorite to win the Super Bowl, the Eagles have grabbed as their coach the most prominent practitioner of hurry-up football in the nation (and the guy who schooled both O’Brien and Pats coach Bill Belichick on the concept).
We do not yet know the details about what happened. We do not know why Kelly walked away from the Eagles after a long interview right after Oregon played in the Fiesta Bowl, or why he has had this change of heart, or how much the Eagles intend to pay him for the privilege.
What does this mean for Nick Foles, the immobile kid quarterback who seems miscast if Kelly wants to play read-option football to go along with the hurry-up? Don’t know. What does it mean for Michael Vick, the expensive, aging quarterback on the roster who moves better than Foles but not as well as he used to move? Don’t know.
There are a million unanswered questions here. The answers will come when they come. Critics will see risk -- in the offense, and how it might translate to the NFL, and in the fact that Kelly has never worked in the league. It is fair to wonder. But to deny the potential upside is to ignore the trends that have been so evident in this NFL playoff season.
There are no certainties here, except one: that a franchise that had grown stale has just placed an enormous bet on the future.
Maybe Lurie gave in to Chips demand that he not howie have final say on football decisions. swinger18
Ugh-This guy's offensive philosophy is like AR and the west coast offense on steroids! I would have preferred ground and pound and an emphasis on Defense. Mike Boryla- Do you understand, BTW, that Vince Lombardi was an OFFENSIVE coordinator before he became a head coach?
BEMiller - I'm sorry BEMiller, but are you comparing a gimmicky college coach with one of the greatest NFL coaches ever?
Phils_World_Champs - I'm not thrilled with the hire, but let's get the facts straight. Oregon has been one of the top RUSHING offenses in the college game since Kelly took over. He helped usher in schemes that are working in the NFL right now based on old school power approaches on the O-line. RUN the ball first was his offensive philosophy, and it WAS NOT a West Coast offense or anywhere near Andy's Lavell Edwards/Norm Chow BYU-type offense.

Wow...I mean Wow. Never saw this coming. I was in the first row seat of the Gus Bus. I would love to hear how the Eagles pulled this off. Kelly was not someone I wanted but I will hold my fire and give the guy a chance. The Eagles are going to take a couple of seasons fix. Now the next big question is who the DC will be. Still An Eagles Fan
The recent experiment with a gimmicky defense failed miserably. I fear the same will be true of the gimmicky offense that Kelly brings with him to Philly. The Eagles do not have the personnel that fits his scheme. Why not find a coach who can get the best out of the players we have? It takes a long time to turn over a 50 man roster.
Even if Kelly can find Jimmie Johnson reincarnated for his defensive coordinator, it looks like it'll be a while before the Eagles are back on top of the NFC East. DPinDC
"this is where the Eagles-are-cheap narrative goes to die an overdue, deserved death."
*Cough* $20M under the cap last year *Cough*
Only in Philly...- I was thinking the exact same thing. The Eagles paid Reid well but they consistently have the most cap room in the NFL. I think that $20M could have been put to good use filling all the holes that developed last season.
coloradoeagle - While I won't argue that money could have gone toward some improvement in 2012, you do realize WHY they carried that much extra money? That money can carry over into another season, in this case, 2013, where the Eagles were OVER the cap without the 2012 $20M credit. This is the franchise where cap manipulating become an art and science.
LeeJPC
And this is breaking news!!!! Who Cares!! Give him two years and your be searching for a new coach! MRD
It's not a gimmicky offense that has failed in the NFL. The Seahawks and the Deadskins both employed it in parts this year. The Patriots and the 49ers are still in the playoffs with it.
But yeah, who is the DC going to be?! stuttgart- and RGIII's career may be over running this gimmick offense. tom brady is a hall of famer...is nick foles the next brady? SF is as much about defense as kaepernick's running ability. and where are the seahwaks playing sunday?
wasn't spurrier a genius at UF before different dumb NFL owner "thought outside the box" and hired him in washington? how did danny wuerffel look running a gimmick offense in the NFL? and at least spurrier's teams played defense hannibal barca
The N.F.L. is speed and score more then 30 points to win anything, I vote yeas to this move as long as he brings in a Defensive Co-ordinator that can hold up. he only drawback is it will take time with the rebuilding and the mess that Read has left. The q.b. situation just got worse. Let's give him a chance Dick Faunce- This is no longer your father's NFL!
The emphasis has turned to scoring, and that means to OFFENSE!
Obviously defense is needed, and a good DC to run it, but the whole league as tipped to offense.
Just have to hope Chip Kelly is ready to let the epithets from the boo boo birdies roll, well, like water off a duck's back!
GOOD GRIEF! BEMiller - Yes, offense is important but it depends what KIND of offense. RG3 just got murdered running a similiar system to CHip Kellys, didnt even last ONE SEASON and he was supposed to be the greates scrambling QB in a generation. What do you think a lesser Geno Smith or a 32 y/o Mike Vick is going to do in it lol..this is going to be a long, long sad JOKE. On EAgles fans, and some of them are even football savvy enough to understand it. The Seahawks also ran a varation of this offense and are OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS. and the Niners just inserted Kapernick a few weeks ago, so he hasnt lasted a full season in it either, being that they spent half the seaon with pocket passer Alex Smith. (and the Niner have the #2 defese in the NFL) (SEA #1) To think that Chip KElly is going to succesfuly run this sytem, not get the QB injured, AND build a #1 or #2 defense, and WIN A SUPERBOWL is LAUGHABLY STUPID. Becuse any team that has attempte to run anything even LIKE that system for a full year is OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS ALREADY. I dont want gimmicks I want a freaking superbowl, and Chip Kelly will NOT win a superbowl with the Eagles with this dumb system.
Someone reminded Phil Knight that the Eagles wear Nike too.... shamdog
I liked Lurie's press conference after he fired Reid. He looked like a guy who really cares about winning. What I did not see is the part of him that ( like Andy Reid ) wants to prove that he is the smartest guy in the room and with this pick of CHip Kelly that is what he is doing. Many a sport writers have said how brillent Gus Bradley is, how his players love him and what a great football mind he is, while saying that Chip Kelly is a possible disaster and at the very least a huge risk. Well Eagles fans we have to strap on our helmets and see what happens but after all the rock turning it looks like Lurie went with the gimmicky shinny Yamaha instead of the tried and true Harley. I hope he is right. I am getting old and need a Super Bowl before I die. Looks like poor Nick Foles will be gone or at the very least a back up while Chip tries to find a running QB that won't get hurt. Man this stinks. Santino
Whoever it was going to be we would've had reservations about.... Be it Kelly,Gruden or whoever......Not sure what I'm thinking about Kelly..... But I think regardless who ever the Coach was going to be, the bigger unfixable problem with this team is Lurie and Roseman....Two Micro managers who are smarter than everyone else klew
Of course, we all have to give him a chance, but I can't help but have nightmares of Steve Spurrier dancing in my head. This organization is really going to hear it if Bradely goes someplace else and wins a superbowl. Hemingway
Kelly is obviously a bright offensive mind but the key to his success will be whom he chooses to run the defense. phillyguy61
Good move. Regardless of his lack of NFL experience, Kelly is a winner. He'll learn to adapt to the NFL. nmlawyer
ahhh poor MRDerp lil self loathing nerd. bhamss1
Well, well. Where are the little boys in the basement, and that includes some of the "writers" who were whining about the Eagles being "rebuffed" by Kelly??? It must be shocking to discover that you don't actually know everything. Second, how is it that some allegedly grown man in his 40's is named Chip?? Is that a real name?? Third, I think he will find it's not quite as easy to motivate players who are already in the NFL to run frantically around the field trying for pro jobs. How many PLAYOFF games did the Ducks win?? Finally, do the Eagles have another HC who doesn't care about defense?? MagMGirl- the Ducks annihilated Kansas State two weeks ago, darlin'
hannibal barca
oh man...what a job!!! no wife ..no kids... football all day all the time, he'll give it all he has....enjoy those cheesesteaks ...no one on your back!!!! PhillyPhilly
Steve Spurrier, Part II.
Saw this movie before, except this guy never won the big one. EmanuelP
Not sure why Foles wouldn't work in terms of speed or mobility. Doesn’t New England run the most up tempo offense in the league? Brady's 40 times are slower than Foles and he has never been accused of being mobile. Foles also received Division one offers in basketball so he has to have some mobility MichaelMore
Some people just like to complain. I'd really like to know who this mythical genius is that the Eagles passed over. p-diddy
The Philly fan Boos will soon begin! Mark my word! MRD
I just heard the most beautiful two words, "Tim Tebow" JohnnyNight
Bold and positive step. Can't wait to see what his first moves will be. I am not a Howie fan, but have to hand it to them: They got their guy. RandlBackScrambln
Rich, you are far and away the best Columnist in Philly period, and top twenty nationwide. JBP
As an Eagles fan for 40 years more frustration. i am not in the anything but AR is improvement camp. AR had to g andw ithout a D or special team what the offense does really does not matter. As Buddy used to say, smart, tough and fast in that order. And the Jeff / Howie tag team is not fixed. Adios Boys. oldBird
Well Mabel, it sure ain't Rich Kotite... robinlupe
Love the upside, but QB is key to playig fast break. When Brady runs it, it's not about him running the football but making quick smart reads. Routes to be precise and offense needs to play faster but QB doesn't have to be a runner. May not be Foles, but really hope it's not Vick. Won't matter if they don't get the defense fixed. Z-Force
This comment has been deleted. Santa Satan- i agree with that. but he will never take the job. he wants to stay a head coach somewhere
- Everyone - give the guy a chance before you start pissing on his head. Christ. Not one of you know what he has planned. He is the new head coach. Period. Live with it. whining that this move is bad does not change that. just give him a chance and see where it goes. What a bunch of friggin crybabies.
We're going to need 3 or 4 QBs in this system, because they're all going to get injured. EmanuelP
Ground and pound, sheesh. NFL football has changed since Dick Butkus played. Get onboard and strap your chinstraps on. ATL-iggle
Vick better not be on this team with this head coach. Foles or someone they draft to build for the future. Let's start off fresh without any felons on the team!
Pineapple Betafish
hopefully he starts with ignoring the radio dopes and 5:00 fools on CSN Friend to All
We pleaded for a much-needed end to the Andy Reid era, and Lurie finally gave it to us. Now it's time for a change, and NONE of us has any clue how this is going to turn out. Chip Kelley could end up being a bust, or he could end up being the best coach this team has ever had. Only time will tell. Until that verdict is in, anybody who calls themselves an Eagles fan owes it to the team, owes it to Jeff Lurie, and owes it to Chip Kelley to give him the benefit of the doubt and rally around this hire. The future may be uncertain, but it always is anyway. And now Eagles fans have something new to be hopeful and excited about. GO EAGLES!! Squizzy Magee
so... @ santino et al; when you say running qb or qb with speed to run kelly's spread offense are you implying/inferring or equating this to a black qb?
are 'youse' afraid he might keep vick? what if vick thrives in this offense? will it be translated into perhaps andy and marty didn't properly use their qb's skill(s) set and got him killed running their outmoded scheme(s) behind a porous o-line. hmmm... ihatenewyorkers- I, also, find the New York thing patently offensive.
On the other hand, I am also "afraid" they might keep Michael Vick, but simply because he has been a disaster in Philly for two years. BEMiller
Kelly's system works at the college level where teams can't spend a lot of time working against a system they see once a year. Those teams have a lot of kids who are only a couple years out of high school. The NFL teams are not going to let Kelly score 50 points a game, so the question will become, can he adapt to something that that works or is he a one trick pony? jrzdvl- This is, perhaps, the nine thousandth time I have seen the nonsense that, "His system works at the college level…"
Frankly, I don't particularly expect he's going to try to run the Oregon offense in the NFL. On the other hand, several NFL teams gave up more than 50 points during games this past season, and I hardly think their opponents were "letting them score" that many points.
Of course the question is about Chip Kelly's being able to adapt what he might want to do to making it work in the NFL. Happily, similar things are all ready being run in the NFL.
Thus, as always, it comes down to a matter of being able to draft the players who can make him a success! It always comes down to players! BEMiller - RG3 just got MURDERED trying to run a similiar system in washington and his career could be in jeopardy already, after only ONE SEASON in a system similiar to this. Russel Wilson is out of the playoffs already and he even had the #1 DEFENSE BACKING HIM, STILL LOST. Its a GIMMICKY SYSTEM THAT YOU RUN IF YOU HAVE A SCRAMBLING QB. IT HAS NOT WON ONE SUPERBOWL EVER. And you think Chip Kelly with Howie Roseman making the picks is going to get a better result then either of those teams ???? MAke the playoffs and LOSE in the playoffs at best coming up, THE SAME FREAKING THING THAT HAS BEEN THERE FOR 14 YEARS. THIS MARKS ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE FROM THE ANDY REID YEARS. ITS A CONTINUATION OF THE SAME STUPID IDEAS, WITH A DIFFERENT GUY. GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS 0 SUPERBOWLS JEFF "INNOVATION" LURIE. GENIUS.
Yeah who knows what this means, but it does feel like the right way to go. The next step is to get a QB, either keep Vick's option and trade to Oakland for Terrell Pryor to back Vick up for a year. This would be probably the simplest thing to do.
Or . . .trade(a #3 pick and a young backup) for Alex Smith, who is 1) really smart and 2) ran a spread offense in college and who 3) has finally become a pretty decent pro QB, albeit not with the arm he once had before his shoulder injury. Still very mobile though and reads Defenses well.
Or . . . maybe let Kelly figure it out. What a concept. Even before this, I never could see building an offense around Nick Foles, who, from my perspective was basically the next great white hope in Philadelphia, and not the Eagles QB of the future. aintnorep
on another note; when is dougie gonna be canned and the sixers get a new hc. it's apparent they've quit on him and he's lost the locker room like the birds and andy this season. dougie's act always seems to get stale too. another change should be in the offing immediately and not wait til later like this eagles 2011-2012 fiasco that unfolded. ihatenewyorkers
i would have loved to read all the articles relating to saban's hire in miami way back in 2005...and spurrier's high flying offense..and bobby petrino..and well, you get the picture. Shemp Howard- ...or Jim Harbaugh with the 49ers when he left college to come to the NFL, or Pete Carroll with the Seahawks, or Tom Coughlin with the Jags and Giants....well, you get the picture. Contrary to popular myth, college coaches can have success coming to the NFL.
LeeJPC
Is it time for Tebow? jim mcelya- No. Even if Chip were to run his blur offense, he uses a passing quarterback who can also run NOT a running QB who can throw a little. And in Tim Tebow's case that is a very little.
hokieduck
I would have preferred Gyp Rosetti as coach. No one disrespects Gyp. MrBigDizzle
Get ready for lots of excitement but no titles... Plenty of appearances on MNF, but no trophies. And the tantalizing success, with lots of regular season wins but plenty of failure in the playoffs, could last a decade or more.
Shapes up to be the Dan Fouts era of Eagle football... Mr. Magee
Rich, you mention that the Patroits are a a Super Bowl favorite with their fast break attack, then ask the question later if the immobile Foles will be miscast in the Kelly system. Well Brady is one of the most immobile QB's I have ever seen and he does just fine. Not to say Foles is in a class with Brady, but I believe he will be able to do some good things with the proper coaching. watsonmr
Lovie Smith could be the Defensive Coordinator? TripleOption

YO CHIP....DUMP VICK......Vick is an old washed-up loser who has LOST SEVEN GAMES IN A ROW....Chip Kelly needs to START FRESH...YO CHIP...SHIP VICK jim35
How do you post a response to a particular post rather than just a general one? jrzdvl
Who bets on the past? 2ndNlong
All of the rules changes have made this an offensive minded league. Lurie is just following the trend with this hire. I think its a shame, in a way. A good 14-10 game is every bit as exciting as a 45-38 game. We will know in 2 or 3 years whether this works out or we'll be searching for a new coach again. SteveS11
Well, once again the Philly press got it WRONG. All I want to know is if he can fix the O-Line and the secondary. Is this the right guy? Nobody knows, we'll know in about a year. Note to Howie: We need a guard, tackle, two corners and a safety. That much hasn't changed. Craig321
One thing's for sure; People are definitely curious and will be counting down the day's until training camp. I have a feeling this will either be very sucessful or go down in flames like we've never seen. Definitely worth watching either way. AngryGregR
@Ihatenewyorkers: You are right about the Eagles, they were a fiasco the last 2 years(and the 4-0 finish in 2011 was deceiving). However, you shouldn't equate the Eagles with the 76ers' coaching situations, even those both teams have management/personnel guys who deserve to be replaced. The 76ers have had 7, that's right, 7 coaches in the last 10 years since Brown left for Detroit(Ayers,Ford, O'Brien, Cheeks, DiLeo, Jordan, Collins). There was a lot of change this past offseason, but perhaps it wasn't the right kind of change. For example, Lou Williams, though he opted out, wanted to stay here; does anyone think Nick Young will shed any more tears than Iguodala when he departs Philly? 76erfn
Lots of hoping going on here, hoping Chip can adapt his system (which he is a leading developer of but not the inventor) and motivate NFL players, hoping we can find a crack DC, hoping they can make consistently solid personnel decisions over the next few years. That's a lot of question marks, rarely are the answers to so many questions all positive, as we have seen. I do think Lurie backed up his words once again despite the rampant negative portrayals of this process. He got a coach who has been described as innovative, adaptive, brilliant with adjustments and ahead of the curve; he got the man he wanted. Now, I just hope he wanted the right man. EagleEye61
Oh boy, I can see the PR department working OT: New Era for Eagles.....Birds in the hunt again for Super Bowl....The Year of Transition has begun......and anything else that will keep selling tickets. STEPHEN1988
A for Mr. Lurie, you got your top choice, congratulations. Blue Hens Rule
I agree with you exactly Santino! This stinks! I did not want Chip Kelly and was relieved that he was staying in college. I actually thought they were going to end up getting the perfect coach by accident. I wanted smash mouth football for the north east weather. Now this happens. The Super Bowl is not coming anytime soon with Kelly... Hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.... robbiemac11- You're dead wrong. Chip is a bad dude and Philly just got a lot better. Don't think the offense Oregon ran is coming to Philly. Chip has a mentality of winning and he is bringing it to the Eagles. If the players buy in you fans are going to look back on this day like it was December 25th.
OregonDuckFan - He is dead wrong because he's an idiot. North east weather? Gimme a break. Im a Philly native and I watched a ton of Oregon games the last 4 years or so because I bet on them so much. Um do you know how much Oregon runs the ball? Gimmick? No! Its about speed and mismatch. You say you want smash mouth? Thats what you're gonna get. When this guy smells blood he goes for the kill and doesn't stop. Watch some games and not just a bowl game and get a clue. You have no idea what you're talking about.
HateAndy
Let's see Shady run the wildcat! gubbers97
As a guy who watched every Oregon Duck football game Kelly ever coached, it is difficult to hear people talk about a "Gimicky Offense". He is a smash mouth, run the ball football type coach. If you don't believe me take a look at the rushing yards Oregon put up the last 2 seasons.
2012 Total Rushing Yards - 4095
2011 Total Rushing Yards - 4189
And the yards didn't come from a gimicky offense. Oregon wore down defenses and punched them in the mouth when they got tired. Chip is going to kill it in Philly...mark my words OregonDuckFan- Nice to hear from a Duck Fan. My guess is most of the morons who post on here never even saw Oregon play, save maybe a BCS game. We fans have no clue what Chip has planned for this team. Give the guy a chance, maybe he builds a great innovative team. gyndavid
- Thats wonderful in the NCAA's, but hes not going to get 4000 yards rushing in the NFL lol...its pathetc. The low football IQ of both the fans and the owner I am convinced are the reason this team has not wn anything in 52 years. Supporting a moron coach and owner, and now another failed strategy coming in. Chip Kelly made it to ONE championship game and LOST BY 3 POINTS, to a team that POUNDED THE BALL ALMOST 50 TIMES WHILE HE THREW THE BALL MORE THEN THEM. Again, this season, chance for a title game if he wins the toughst game against stanford, and shocker, he LOSES AGAIN...by 3 POIINTS..to a team that RAN THE BALL OVER 40 TIMES. So another offense first team with a gimmicky system that loses to the best defenses by 3 points, WOW I HAVENT SEEN THAT FOR THE LAST DECADE AND A HALF ALMOST. GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS
Everyone needs to chill out. Reid went 66-61-1 over the last 8 seasons and was lucky they didn't finish 5-11 or 4-12 in 2011. This is a team in need of a change and don't be surprised if Kelly pulls a power move and Roseman is out of Philly soon. I am sure that Lurie made a ton of concessions to get his new boy to the east coast. Bill R4
Who knows. We shall see. Lurie's got a big set to go back and get this guy when other more established candidates would be a safer pick. Give him credit. But who knows how this will end up... iskabobpatel
Watch Kelly hire Romeo Crennel as his defensive coordinator. Crennel was DC for New England, is experienced, and knows the . misterhman
Apparently Chipper wants to bring in d-coordinator Grantham from Univ of Georgia. Saban and Grantham each use the same maxim when explaining their vision of football: “Big people beat up little people.” Imagine an Eagle coaching staff that wants a big physical defense.
And then it comes out that Chipper thinks that Foles was an awesone college qb who played out of this world against his Oregon team.
Vick gone, Foles at the helm all season and a big physical 3-4 defense has turned me from a Kelly detractor to a Kelly fan. uts
Maybe I'm slow but wouldn't the title of this article "Eagles place a bet on the future, hire Chip Kelly" apply to any coach they hired? I'm just sayin. massey1231
I love how people bash this guy before he even gets to Philly. You want the ground and pound Buddy ball? Then go buy a Delorean and invent a time machine you morons. Todays NFL is about speed and creating mismatches. Did you even watch any playoff games? All high scoring because thats what the league wants. Then why not go get the best offensive mind in college football? Its a high risk high reward move and it took balls to do it. Do you want John Gruden or Brian Billick because they have a ring? One ran a team into the ground (Gruden) by making poor draft picks over and over again and along the way bringing in terrible qbs. Or Billick who yeah won a super bowl but the Ravens did it in spite of him. Do you remember the Ravens went something like 22 quarters without an offensive td. Yeah I want him lol. Not saying Kelly will be the next Belichick but Im a gambling man and I applaud the move. If you're a good, smart coach you'll succeed anywhere. Give the guy a chance. And by the way Oregon ran the ball about 55-60% of the time. HateAndy
I will say it again: Kelly is an innovator on BOTH sides of the ball. He drills stamina as well as discipline into players. They hit and run. We are gonna love the ride. jjthree
As Philly fans cheer for a few months cause they have a new coach...New York fans with Four Super Bowl Championships...keeps on laughing!!!! MRD
If he wins, the fans will call him "Poker Chip Kelly," because he's money. If he loses, the fans will call him "Cow Chip Kelly" for obvious reasons. rhawnhurster
Here come the halfwits. FIrst you wanted AR fired. Now you complain about the new coach. Injuries happen CG25...If Reggie White would have injured a knee he wouldn't have been the best of all time. You can't predict who will or won't get injured, or whether Foles will play or be traded or who the QB would be. I'll wait to see how the birds do before I jump on the Hate bandwagon...and for the people who call the Eagles Cheap...hmmm, their signing over the last ten years rank with anyones. Stop complaining and go home and figure out how to cut the deficit. Maybe you are better than that than you are at football. Go Eagles. ceocreates- well, the might as well draft johnny football right now... esesjay
lol, actually in some cases, you CAN. Statistically scramling QB's get hurt more often then pocket passers and thier peak effectivness is usually limited to just a few short years before they lose thier mobility. Whereas a pocket passer can maintain thier peak for many years. Also scramling QB's do not win superbowls and you can FACTUALLY look at guys who scramble too much and see that it has NEVER resulted in a superbowl. Its like people are just making stuff up to be negative here. There are a TON of potential problems with Kellys dumb gimmicky system and it is 50/50 that it will actually work reasonably well at all in the NFL. Probably less then that. Another stupid move for the dumbest organiztion in the NFL. There are so many things that could go wrong, and in the freaking NFL, the toughest football league in the world, they probably will. GIMMICKS DO NOT WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC CharlieGarner25
