What should the Eagles do if Nick Foles continues to struggle? Are the Sixers regretting trading for Andrew Bynum? Daily News columnist Rich Hofmann offers his answers to these questions in a video chat with CineSport's Noah Coslov.

Agree with the above comments re. Foles. Absurd to be having discussions about "regrets" and bust" for him. Period.

As for Bynum. The Sixers knew they were taking a big chance with him. He was/is damaged goods. And it would be surprising if his situation gets better to the point where a long term contract makes sense.

While the Sixers do not miss Iguodala, I suspect they may be ruing the loss of the draft picks, Harkless and, especially, Vucevic who will turn out to be a very decent NBA center.

    Sigh ...

what NFL QB could be very good behind a 2nd string line that has not even played together.... you can't give Foles a pass or fail until you see him behind a NFL line.

Way too much over-reacting on the QB. Foles needs a chance over more than 1 start. Especially when you have a head coach that does his QBs no favor. Let's face it, Vick got hit 10-12 times a game because Reid won't use McCoy the way he should. The offense is so predictable and the Oline is overmatched. So Reid throws all the time and runs most of the plays out of the shotgun.

Let's get a head coach who will make use of McCoy the right way.
Let's strenthen the defense and Oline.

Not sure if Foles will work out but he needs more of a chance than 1 start. Reid has had 14 years and he makes the same mistakes over and over.

JRich alone has made the Bynum deal worth it. Anyone missing Iguodala? I didn't think so. If we had Iguodala and Brand and faced the injury issues the 76ers do this season you think they'd be 7-4? I doubt fully healthy if the team from last season would be this good. When Bynum does play this team will go from really good to great.

Vick was an awful 11-17 the past THREE YEARS, and not one writer criticised the $100 million bust Vick...yet this rookie kid Foles plays one game and they are already taking cheap shots at him.

And why do you think that??? A color biased media maybe, ohh
I'm sorry, not allowed to say that?

it's time to relax as eagles fans and realize that it's over. it's time to rebuild...starting with big, talented players on both lines, a big running back acquired through some early draft choice--after winding up with the worst record in football in 2012--and a leader at QB acquired through free agency to mentor our next high draft pick QB...time to plan for the future...the past has passed...let's get it right this go around

I really don't think they have given Foles a chance. I like his size, his arm, and he seems to be able to read defense....if he is not running for his life that is.

Bynum.......I just see Jeff Ruland all over. Tall people always have the potential for joint issues....Bynum is young, but he is brittle. If he does play, I bet he does not average 40 games a year, if that....and mean ever.

No one has seen enough of Foles to make any predictions. Sadly with the horrible O Line in front of him, he is unfairly handicapped. Hoffman, you should be ashamed.

Hoffmann is the bust. How can any intelligent person imply that based on one game that a QB may be a bust or superstar. The only truthful and logical thing one could say is that "We don't know". Even if he was 45 of 46 with 400 yards, we still do not know. He needs to play more games, then you might know. Idiot.

Rich, You have to get something better than this to write about. It's getting to the point where I'm going to other sites for eagles news because your content is so bad. Foles has just started to struggle, only one game remember? I'm going back to read McManus and Kapadia, they can write about something that matters.

Bynum has been disappointing, but could still end up playing 50-60 games and playoffs, so I'm not worrying yet.
Foles... the kid can be good. This team has weapons! No they aren't winning but Desean and Maclin are solid receivers that can win games. McCoy and Brown are good hard runners, and Celek and Harbor are solid TEs. I firmly believe that Foles can run this offense without having to be a superstar, much like Matt Ryan is doing in Atlanta. Never wowing anyone, but just playing good games. Problem here is this team. Sadly Andy has lost them. A new coach could step in to this team, and after re-tooling the OLine(which won't be crazy hard with Peters Kelce and Herremens returning) and you could quickly have a team that can beat any defense again.

Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest.
