Councilman Goode to hold hearings on whether Philadelphia School District pays fair wage to all workers

Following complaints from a union, Councilman Wilson Goode Jr. says he will hold hearings on whether the Philadelphia School District pays wages the city requires.

Food-service workers and some aides in the Philadelphia School District say they should be paid $10.88 an hour, the amount required of certain companies and organizations that have contracts with, or receive financial assistance from, the city of Philadelphia.

In an announcement today, Councilman Wilson Goode Jr. said he will hold a hearing looking into those claims.
