No schools position for Taubenberger

From Inquirer reporter Martha Woodall:

Al Taubenberger, Mayor Nutter’s Republican opponent in the 2007 mayoral race and president of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce, was among the names that surfaced during last week’s speculation about who Nutter and Rendell would appoint to the Philadelphia School Reform Commission.

Taubenberger, 55, never got the call.

In an interview, he said that although he was interested in the post, he had never discussed it with Nutter -- or anyone in the administration.

Just how his name surfaced in the first place remains a mystery – for now.“I look forward to working with the new choices, and I wish them success,” Taubenberger said, “because we need to have success.”
