The Delaware River Waterfront Corp. , or DRWC, said it will no longer give grant money to two nonprofits connected to former State Sen. Vincent Fumo.
This is from the statement of the DRWC, which promotes the development of the Delaware River waterfront:
Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) announced today
that it has sent letters to Citizens' Alliance for Better Neighborhoods and Spring Garden Community
Development Corporation terminating their operating grants effective February 6, 2008 and January 4, 2008
respectively.
In addition, DRWC is reserving its rights to seek recovery of certain grant monies identified in the Inspector
General's report and is seeking further advice from counsel on the matter.
Last June, DRWC commissioned a forensic audit to be overseen by the Office of the Inspector General
regarding grants made to these organizations. The Office of the Inspector General's Final Report of
Investigation titled, "Citizens Alliance for Better Neighborhood and Spring Garden Community Development
Corporation" was released on May 4, 2010.
