Nutter won. DROP abusers and millionaires Pete Matthews and Cathy Scott did nothing to defend their workers. They knew Nutter was anti-union and anti-worker when he froze pay and longevity steps. The time to strike was in 2009. Nutter wants a strike now so he can implement his terms by law. Matthews and Scott are complete failures. They are supposed to defend their workers and provide a counterweight to Nutter. They just sat back and watched him balance the budget on their workers backs. Matthews comes out and yells and does nothing when its time for re-election. He spends all of his time on his yacht outside of Atlantic City. Cathy Scott is just a doormat and not a leader. She was busy counting her DROP money and creating her beloved wellness program that does nothing for the standard of living for her members. They are unethical losers.

@mikewelsh, Stop lying. Matthews, as well as Scott, have been diligent and steadfast in their struggles as labor leaders. The real benefactors of the DROP program are the elected officials, who have and continue to gayly galavant through the loopholes, which rape the pension fund.

Mistah Mayor, the best thing you can do to redeem yourself is to step down along with everybody in city "crook" council. A big win for the tax payers!

The unions have to realize that everyone working in the private sector pays a contribution for their healthcare and retirement plans. Their sense of entitlement is only going to bankrupt the city.

@joschmo, Dude, You're going to need a sharp pair of shears to cut away the wool over your eyes. Cityworkers contribute to the healthcare and retirement plan. Now, your elected officials and executive branch of the city.... that's something all together different. Camille Barnett worked for the city for two years as the Managing Director and retired and receives $50,000.00 a year as her pension. Now I don't about you, but I don't know anyone who can work for two years, retire and collect $50,000.00. That's where your tax dollars are wasted.

TopCat#1: Pete Matthews and Cathy Scott both went through DROP and came back to the same jobs. They collect pensions on top of their six-figure salaries. That's a fact. Call the Board of Pensions. There is no difference between them coming back from DROP or elected officials.

Drop should be Dropped. We all know it. When working for Govt. whether city, state or Fed, their is a sense of entitlement. Take everything you possibly can as fast as you can. Similar to a group of looters during a riot. I believe that Unions "gave us the weekend" as we know it and they serve a place in a market economy to assure the existence of the middle class. However, some, not all unions, have to stop being self preservationist and start being strategic towards everyone's existence, including and most important, the tax payer. Some union leaders are not that bright. Their voted in on the "being Tuff" ticket but yet they have a 6th grade reading level. They do not understand a balance sheet and think Excel is a kind of ice cream.
