DNC 2016 Committee announces new staff

The Democratic National Convention Committee has settled in town and is ready to work. The committee, led by convention CEO Rev. Leah D. Daughtry, has been setting up shop at offices at 19th and Market streets over the last few weeks. On Thursday, the team announced the addition of six new directors on staff.

The committee, led by convention CEO Rev. Leah D. Daughtry, has been setting up shop at offices at 19th and Market streets over the last few weeks. On Thursday, the team announced the addition of six new directors on staff.

"I am thrilled we have assembled such a strong and experienced team," Daughtry said in statement. "Each of these individuals brings a wealth of talent to help us make the 2016 Democratic Convention the most diverse, engaging and forward-looking Convention in history."

The 2016 Democratic Convention will be held at the Wells Fargo Center July 25- 28. The executive committee is working with the Philadelphia host committee, city and state officials and the U.S. Secret Service to put together the grand event that will officially nominate the Democratic pick for President and Vice-President. The event is expected to attract between 35,000 to 50,000 people to Philadelphia.

The new staff are the following:

Lisa Hargrove Ware, Director of Credentials

Hargrove served as the Director of Operations for the Office of the CEO of the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver.

Karen Burchard, Director of Media Logistics

Burchard brings more than 20 years of logistics, advance, campaign, and press experience in the government and private sector to the convention. She served as Director of Media Logistics at the 2012 Democratic Convention in Charlotte and Director of Press Operations for the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver.

Darryl Stanley, Director of Technology

Stanley is a local man who got his start in network management building the 2007 Nutter for Mayor Campaign's IT infrastructure and services. He has since worked as an IT Program Manager for the city's Office of Emergency Management. He also directed the technology services at the Pennsylvania Convention Center for more than 250 annual events and oversaw the technology installation projects for the 2011 building expansion from 1 million square feet to more than 2 million square feet.

Casey Frary, Director of Operations

Frary has managed several political campaigns in the last 10 years.

Jean Doherty, Director of Housing

This will be the third Democratic Convention Doherty works on. At the Democratic National Committee, Jean served as the Director of the Secretary's Office.

Portia Reddick White, Deputy Director of Public Engagement

Reddick White is the Senior Advisor to Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid. She will be joining the team in January.

The rest of the executive team had been announced in September.
