Courts to help out with city deficit

The city's court system will transfer about $3 million - some of it in recovered bail payments that had gone missing due to shoddy record keeping - to the city's cash-strapped general fund tomorrow, according to a source familiar with the transfer.

And there's the possibility of further payments to the city in the future, the source said. The news will be formally announced at a press conference tomorrow where Mayor Nutter and President Judge Pamela P. Dembe will make a joint appearance.
