NBC10 offers air time to Republican mayoral candidate

Philadelphia's NBC affiliate announced this afternoon it's offering airtime to the Republican mayoral candidate, Karen Brown, but Brown is proceeding with a protest against an hour-long telecast this evening featuring Mayor Nutter.
"They're trying to stall us so we won't protest," Brown told the Inquirer. "We'll take the time if they offer it but they won't put anything in writing. They're just trying to keep me from going up there and ruining their show."
Nutter is scheduled to appear live at 7 p.m. in a half-hour telecast called "Ask the Mayor," taking questions from an invited studio audience, Twitter, Facebook and email.
The session will continue with a livestream on the Internet until 8 p.m., at www.nbcphiladelphia.com.
Brown asked to participate in the event and was turned down.
NBC 10 issued a statement this afternoon saying simply that it "has reached out to the campaign of Karen Brown and offered her the opportunity to appear on our air. We are currently working out the details with the campaign."
I am in my early 30s and I have watched our city go downhill my entire life. The street I grew up on, I would not walk down at night. My entire life, democrats have always been in charge. The same people keep getting elected and they allow our city to fall apart.
Lately it seems like things are getting worse and more dangerous faster than ever before. My family is made up of 90% democrats and every one of them are sick and tired of watching our city go to waste.
This year, we are voting for Karen Brown so that someone new has the chance to shake things up.

Democrats have run the city for 50 years...how's that been working out for ya? Crime, corruption, failing schools, inept city council, tax assesments that make no sense, poverty, DROP, the Street brothers, Wilson "bombs away" Goode, Cory Kemp, George Scwartz, ABSCAM, Ackerman, Evan, Fattah, Brady, Johnny Doc, Black Clergy, Unions ...need I go on? And you think the Republicans can do any worse...yeah right! jimmymack
Gorming is hereby challenged to a debate on the issues. Race and class warfare off the table. Trolling =/= productive commenting. The fact that the webmasters let her through is a travesty. BlairW
Let's get back to the real issue. The Mayor has every right to appear on a tv program involving the City of Phila, without giving equal time to his opponent, as long as it's not a political show. The election is a long way off and the citizens shouldn't be deprived of hearing from the Mayor on issues involving the City. Fast Eddy- EXACTLY

gorming just spouts every left wing blogger mantra - ever have an original thought? fafafooey- This comment has been deleted.
tynol10 - Take a look at other Democrat-led cities, like Detroit and Wash. D.C. Then compare them to a Reublican led city like New York City. See any difference?

tynol10
Comment removed.- there was a lot of harsh inaccurate stuff said. Dem leadership is a success, not a failure. That's one example of being inaccurate. Being critical of something that is in fact a good thing and will not change.
And philly is not corrupt. It's fine but thanks for stopping by and adding your inaccurate, unwanted two cents, which no one cares about. there's no space for republican lunatics here. they'd screw things up as they are doing in washington. They hate everyone except straight, wealthy business owners who hate the environment. republicans are racist and they're committed to rigging our elections and letting our infrastructure crumble.]
But they love their oil. they'll pay top dollar for that. That and war. they love war too. Dumb people. gorming
It's not getting destroyed. It'd get destroyed with republicans like the country is with the nuts in The house gorming- You need to open your eyes and be honest with yourself. I lived in the city for over half of my 60 years, and there has never been a bigger booster of the city than I. However, the city is corrupt and content in its corruptness. Special interests and the powerful run the city for their own benefit.
Put the blind partisanship aside. It reveals your ignorance. gxel
Comment removed.- The GOP would ruin our city just like they try to ruin the EPA and gut funds for INFASTRUCTURE. They're sick racist and terrible people.
gorming - That couldn't be more true
tynol10 - It's not a toilet. Your describing your house. Philadelphia is the most wonderful historic city ever. It's wonderful. You seriously should to leave if your views are that inaccurate. you clearly aren't appreciative.

We can't afford anti American republicans who create tax loopholes and don't give a damn with anyone but the rich and who hate gay people and try to ruin America. Democrats are the only chance here in Philadelphia and Mayor Nutter is awesome at his job.

Sounds typical of NBC10. On Sunday mornings, they have a "newsmaker" one-on-one interview, and 9 times out of 10 it is a Democrat, and they get thrown nice softball questions, which the Democrat party probably wrote for the talking head interviewer. Ghost of 0bamaRemorse- F The GOP. Anti American losers who want no more than to poison our ground water, and let our roads and bridges collapse cause they are too cheap to pay for them to be fixed.
