19-year-old Selena Gomez has come a long way since her Wizards of Waverly Place days.
In her latest interview as ELLE Magazine's July cover girl, the star shares how she's evolving as an actress, her relationship with Justin Bieber, and her days with Disney. Although her tween movie days are over, Gomez is expected to be the next big twenty-something starlet in Hollywood. Don't worry- she's not planning on fading away into that creative abyss of indie obscurity, although she has starred in several "gritty" Sundance-type flicks lately (which we wholeheartedly respect).
In addition to her sweet demeanor, we also appreciate that Gomez is incredibly grounded and open about her past. She's inspiring to young (and old) people everywhere, as she continues to focus on giving back to the community. She tells ELLE,
"I can remember about seven times when our car got stuck on the highway because we'd run out of gas money." Still her mother, "saved up to take me to concerts. She took me to museums, aquariums, to teach me about the world, about what's real."
Gomez also opens up about her boyfriend Bieber, who recently rented out the Staples Center for a private screening of Titanic for his lovely lady. She says,
"If I'll share anything with you, it's that he really is a hopeless romantic. I had just mentioned it in the car - all I said is that I really want to see Titanic again, and then."
