Gaga 'channels fozzibear' on the cover of Vogue's September issue

Lady Gaga, who's been teasing her cover girl status for the all-important September issue of Vogue Magazine for months now, released the Grace Coddington-styled, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott-shot image at midnight via Twitter.

Mother Monster has finally landed on the cover of Vogue, and the publication's Prada-adorning editor is probably beaming from all the buzz.

After months of teasing her status as cover girl for the all-important September issue of the magazine, Lady Gaga released the Grace Coddington-styled, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott-shot image at midnight via Twitter.

On it, the 26-year-old wears a shiny, stunning, magenta Marc Jacobs mermaid gown that accents her figure and billows out at her hips. And although her hair isn't pink like it was on her March 2011 cover, Gaga pokes fun at her poof and says, "I'm totally channeling fozzibear."

Truth. The other editorial image released is of a tastefully-nude Gaga donning a huge, bright pink Steven Jones hat featuring several pounds of plumage and fur. How she manages to lift her head under the weight of that item is beyond us. Also worth noting is the level of flawlessness emanating from Gaga in the teased photos. Either the makeup artists loaded up on BB creams or Vogue's photo editors cracked their knuckles and went to work applying their Photoshop skills. She looks perfect!

As part of her interview, Gaga admits she enjoys being "a little irresponsible," and acts on it by dancing topless and having sex in public places, this according to AP. She even gives some insight on her new fragrance "Fame," which is the reason why she had agreed to be the cover girl of the publication's most-important issue all year in the first place.

Gaga's previous Vogue cover was the publication's second best-selling issue in 2011, followed by an immediate boost in ad page numbers, with Ad Age crediting the increase, "partly but not entirely on the strength of a great Lady Gaga cover in March." Last month, magazine publishers released their September ad counts, resulting in Vogue leading all fashion titles by far. According to WWD, the publication "had its best September since 2008, totaling 658 ad pages, an increase of 13 percent from September 2011." The execs at Conde Nast must be so pleased.

The September 2012 issue is Vogue's 120th anniversary issue. It is said to be the largest one ever, and hits stands on August 14.
