Jessica Chastain was front row at the Giorgio Armani Privé couture show in Paris when she learned she was nominated for an Oscar Tuesday morning.
According to WWD, the news resulted in congratulatory cheers from surrounding attendees including Cameron Diaz. Chastain, who received the nod for nominee in a Best Supporting Actress category for The Help, was beyond herself sources said.
She told the publication, "I got a message from my agent that said, ‘Congratulations on your Oscar nomination.' "
The actress thought it was a mistake. Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani posted a photo on Twitter of the Oscar contender on the phone as she processed the news.
As for the fashions featured in the show, it looks like Armani once again stunned guests with ebullient, shimmery, sequined gowns. Chastain told AP, "I love the green look, so stylish and so elegant with the embroiderings."
Looks like she was in the right place to find the right gown for the red carpet.
