Breakfast at Tiffany's equals L-O-V-E

It's a memorable, if not iconic scene in American film history: An elegant young lady, draped in pearls and a black Givenchy gown, noshes on a croissant as she wistfully stares into the window of Tiffany & Co. from behind her oversized sunglasses.

Two weeks ago, Tiffany's hosted a breakfast at its Walnut St. location where guests enjoyed pastries and mimosas as they perused bright shiny jewels. The bona fide Breakfast at Tiffany's was held not only to kick-off the holiday shopping season, but also to announce several exciting festivities in the coming year.

Furthermore, Wednesday marked the 21st birthday of the Center City store! And it was an extra-happy occasion for 1414 Walnut St., which also debuted its annual holiday display windows.

The relationship between Philadelphia and Tiffany's runs much deeper than one might realize. In fact, it began in the 19th Century when the company participated in the 1876 international exposition, which was hosted by the City of Philadelphia as part of the nation's Centennial celebration.

Furthermore, the Philadelphia location started welcoming customers in 1990, making it one of the first ten locations, worldwide. Most recently, Tiffany's released its Era collection in Fall 2011 (see above).

According to Tiffany McCauley, Group Director of Tiffany & Co. Philadelphia, the Era collection specifically speaks to the City of Brotherly Love. She says, "Reminiscent of the LOVE statue, the collection spells out L-O-V-E on dimensional, four-sided bangles, pendants and rings."

The item could be paired nicely with holiday soiree wear. We envision an updated rendition of the LBD, a ruby-red cocktail in hand, city lights gleaming in the background, and mistletoe abounding in every corridor. Can you tell we love the holidays?
