Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds tie the knot

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds got married Sunday evening at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina in a town just outside of Charlestown.

Looks like Gossip Girl missed out on this one.

Blond bombshell Blake Lively and Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds wed in a covert, private ceremony in a town just outside Charleston, S.C. Sunday evening. They exchanged their vows on the grounds of Boone Hall Plantation, a property where the 2004 film The Notebook was also filmed.

The wedding was first reported by local radio station 95.1 FM, after the source tweeted, "Hold up, there's another story that it's Ryan Reynolds and he married Blake Lively at the Cotton Docks today!" PEOPLE confirmed the reception took place under a white tent, and singer Florence Welch performed a set of three songs for 60-plus guests. In the July issue of Marie Claire, Lively cited Welch as her "style obsession" to Nina Garcia, calling the lead singer "pure magic."

As for Lively and Reynolds, the two met on the set of superhero flick The Green Lantern in 2011 and were spotted together shortly after Reynolds' divorce from actress Scarlett Johansson was finalized that same year. After six months of dating, Reynolds and Lively bought a house together in Bedford, New York earlier this year.

Stylish star Lively is best-known for her on-screen role as Serena van der Woodsen in the CW's hit show Gossip Girl, which will see its sixth and final season this fall. She's beloved by the fashion industry for her fierce and innate sense of style. Unlike her Tinseltown peers, she frequents fashion shows and personalizes her red carpet appearances without consulting a professional stylist. She told Vogue in 2010 that if she wasn't an actress, she would most likely be an interior designer or an artist. "If I could paint, I would, but I can't. But what I can do for visual expression is dress well," she said. Lively's aesthetic outlook continually receives high remarks from designers and editors alike, including Anna Wintour who has placed the star on multiple Vogue covers, including 2010's best-dressed issue.

Early reports speculated that Lively wore Chanel, but it appears that the bride and her bridesmaids all wore custom-designed Marchesa gowns by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. A local also tweeted that shoe designer Christian Louboutin was present in the Southern town, and it appears she did wear his shoes. Lively, a self-proclaimed Louboutin aficionado, has admitted to owning hundreds of pairs of shoes by the king of red soles.

We're sure the bride also had a hand in Reynolds' wedding day-wear. He and his groomsmen wore Burberry suits and leather suspenders by Christopher Bailey. Jeweler to the stars Lorraine Schwartz designed the couple's wedding bands. Their big day was a Martha Stewart Weddings production, and exclusive details involving the couple's nuptials will be revealed in the publication's winter issue which hits newsstands in, sigh, December.

This is 25-year-old Lively's first marriage and 35-year-old Reynolds' second. Reynolds was also engaged to Alanis Morissette, but the two called it quits in 2007 before even making it down the aisle. Meanwhile, Lively dated her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley for several years and was briefly linked to blockbuster actor Leonardo DiCaprio in 2010.

She very openly told Marie Claire in her July interview that she's been with very "few people." With regards to Reynolds and her previous relationships, she hinted, "If I'm not with somebody who really excites or inspires me, then I'd rather be by myself."
