So Long Mel - We Hardly Knew Ye

Green Party candidate Mel Packer is quitting the Senate race, figuring Democrats would just try to stick hm with the legal bills they're spending to crush him in court, according to PA Public Radio's Scott Detrow.

Rep. Joe Sestak, the Democratic Senate nominee, went to court to bar Packer from the ballot because of irregularities in the signatures on his nominating petitions. Packer called Sestak a "political and moral coward" because he was afraid of competition. Now, he's apparently decided that discretion is the better part of valor - a mouse that flips off an eagle is making a statement but is going to be eaten.

Here's Detrow's report.
