Rendell to Obama: Bad call on The View

The President gabbing with the gals on The View?

Bad move, says Gov. Rendell.

In a presidential first, Obama will appear on an episode of The View scheduled to air Thursday. (Obama did appear on The View as a candidate in 2008).

Appearing on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning, Rendell suggested the tabloid-loving ABC talk-show may not be a suitable forum for a sitting president.

"I think the president should be accessible, should answer questions that aren't pre-screened, but I think there should be a little bit of dignity to the presidency," Rendell said. according to CNN.

Rendell said Obama appearing on theThe View is not unlike doing a turn on the mother of all daytime in-your-face-talk shows.

"I think there are some shows - I wouldn't put him on Jerry Springer either," said Rendell. "It is different a little bit. But I think the President of the United States has to go on serious shows."
