PA budget secretary's wife arrested for DUI after police chase

The wife of the state budget secretary was arrested over the weekend and charged with driving under the influence after leading police on an early morning chase outside Harrisburg .

Georgina D. Zogby, 47, of Mechanicsburg, was initially stopped about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, according to state police. She allegedly drove away as a trooper approached her car. Troopers eventually stopped her after a pursuit, according to the Patriot-News of Harrisburg.

Police said Zogby, the wife of budget secretary Charles Zogby, will face charges of driving while under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police and numerous traffic citations.

Efforts to reach the Corbett administration were not immediately successful.

Before joining the Corbett administration, Charles Zogby served as senior vice president of education and policy for K12 Inc., an online school curriculum developer and provider.

He also served as education secretary in the administrations of Govs. Ridge and Schweiker. In a December press release announcing Zogby's appointment, the Corbett's administration said the Zogbys had been married for 24 years.

Four current members of the state legislature have had run-ins with the law since the beginning of the year, three of them for DUI. A fourth, Sen. Bob Mensch (R., Montgomery), was convicted in a gun-related road rage incident.
