Nutter raps old school with D.J. Jazzy Jeff

Mayor Nutter proves once again you can't keep a class rapper down.

Nutter on Wednesday night reprised his popular rendition of "Rappers Delight" (yes, he knows all the words) with D.J. Jazzy Jeff at the turntable for the opening of Mitchell and Neff's newest sporting goods store in Center City.

"It was a spontaneous thing," said Nutter's spokesman, Mark McDonald, of the impromptu performance. "For a guy his age it's the last rap he remembers."

Fans of the mayor - known as Mixmaster Mike back in the day - may recall he first showed his old school rapping chops with the Sugar Hill gang's 1980 classic at his inauguration party two years ago.
