Gov. Rendell wasn't at the Harrisburg mansion Friday night working on the budget.
Nor was he across the Susquehanna River at the Democratic State dinner where the party he has led for eight years was selecting new leadership amid more than a little internal strife.
Rendell was in fact in Washington D.C. He spent the evening at the Nationals ballpark with the President watching pitching sensation Stephen Strasburg on the mound against Obama's hometown Chicago White Sox.
Also in the President's box were Obama's daughters, Senior Advisor David Axelrod, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (We guess this means Napolitano and Ed Rendell do in fact have lives) and Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.)
