Gun debate draws both sides to Capitol
Activists on both sides of the gun debate converge in Harrisburg today to deliver their messages to lawmakers.
The most outspoken pro-gun lawmaker rolled out his latest bill at a gun rights rally, sponsored by the greass roots group Pennsylvania Responsible Citizens this morning in the bitter cold on the Capitol steps.
Rep. Daryl Metcalfe (R., Butler) told the crowd that his bill would make it a crime for Pennsylvania's attorney general or any other law enforcement in Pennsylvania to enforce any new federal gun control laws by "liberal gun grabbers."
The bill number? 357.
"I'm adding my magnum to it," Metcalfe said, referring to the .357 magnum revolver.
The crowd, some waving pro-Second Amendment signs, others wearing their statement - handguns - strapped on their belts, roared with approval.
Across the Capitol at noon gun control supporters, led by CeaseFire PA, are scheduled to hold their rally to call for stricter gun laws in the wake of the Newtown tragedy.

Democrats claim to want to defend humanity from harm...what they dont tell you is in 2008 alone there were over 1.21 MM voluntary abortions in the US vs less than 643 gun fatalities which includes justifiable homicides.
Democrats need to refocus their priorities vs simply looking for soundbites and hollow victories against hundreds of millions of law abiding Americans.
BTW, where are the Jobs Mr President?!?
Professor1982- Gun control and abortion are separate issues, idiot.
"BTW, where are the Jobs Mr President?"
That's a good question. Remember when Tea Party dimwits ran on 'jobs' in 2010? Where are the jobs bills they promised us? Don't answer. It's a rhetorical question. It was the same old bait and switch that Republicans are famous for. They got to work on social issues and forgot about the whole job thing-y.
