Have you seen Chelsea Ramsey?

Police are searching for the whereabouts of Chelsea Ramsey, 12, a student at KIPP Charter.

UPDATE, MONDAY, 10:30 p.m.:

Police are now considering Chelsea Ramsey, a 12-year-old who's been missing since Jan. 15, as a runaway. Family members reported the girl missing after last being seen in her West Philadelphia neighborhood.

The pre-teen, a student at KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory, was last seen on 60th Street near Race.
Police say that for days people have spotted Chelsea in the area near her West Philly neighborhood. Authorities are trying to pinpoint her whereabouts, but have been so far unsuccessful.

"We're still looking for her," said Lt. John Walker, of Southwest Detectives. "We believe she's staying with someone. We don't know who she's staying with. We believe someone is allowing her to stay with them."

Police don't believe she's in immediate danger.

Last Saturday was the last time the family members of 12-year-old Chelsea Ramsey saw her. A student at KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory, Chelsea was last seen near 61st and Race streets, wearing jeans, a gray shirt, and a gray and blue plaid coat.

She's 5-feet-6 with a slender build, light skinned, with long red and black braids. Flyers with her image (she's in a striped jumper and round white collar) have been circulating around West Philadelphia.
