UPDATE: The School District said tonight that the proposed amendment to Superintendent Arlene Ackerman's contract is no longer being considered.
Hey folks, I've been away the last couple of weeks, but a lot has happened in my absence.
For starters, as promised, Mayor Nutter released the documents given to him by school district officials as part of their educational accountability agreement both parties signed last month.
The data is divided into seven sections: financial oversight, Title I funding, programming, issues concerning personnel, vendor and facilities, senior staff and the agreement itself.

There, you will find a listing of the district's contracts for professional services and contracts. The city also posted a list of contracts for capital projects and a report detailing the salary, bonuses, pension contribution, car allowances or other monetary benefits of high-level employees, including Supt. Arlene Ackerman.
Take note, the link to a list of non-union, non-instructional employees making $90,000 or more is not yet active and other links are slow to open.
One piece of information many will find interesting is a proposed, but not yet approved amendment to Ackerman's contract that promises to put her deferred $100,000 bonus into a separate trust. The amendment would also offer her another $150,000 retention bonus next June 30, and for every year until the end of her contract in 2015.
If that's not enough, the amendment states that the district will also pay her health benefits for life at no cost to her.
