Corbett Hosts Former Penn State Players

POSTED: Wednesday, January 23, 2013, 8:31 AM

Gov. Corbett hosted about 75 former Penn State football players at the Governor's Mansion in Harrisburg Tuesday night to explain his lawsuit against the NCAA, according to Harrisburg media.

Tuesday was the one-year anniversary of Joe Paterno's death.

One news outlet, ABC News affiliate WHTM-TV, says the private two-hour session included a sit-down dinner. Let's hope Corbett's campaign fund and not taxpayers picked up the tab.

Pennlive.com, the online news service of The Patriot News, reports most of the former Lions wouldn't comment while leaving the mansion and that the governor's staff did not respond to questions.

Those who did talk included Donnie Miller, Class of `65, who told Pennlive.com, "He (Corbett) wanted to put straight what was true and what wasn’t true.”

Pennlive.com also reports that Travis Forney, Class of 2000 and now from Doylestown, called the meeting a good chance to clear the air.

“There were a lot of issues that were brought up... ranging from when things first came out (in November 2011) all the way up to this point right here. It gave everybody there just that chance to kind of delve into things that we might not have been able to do before,” said Forney, now a teacher.

The meeting was arranged, according to Pennlive.com, through emails over last weekend with the help of former Penn State lineman Todd Rucci, now executive director of the state lottery.

(Uh, guess Rucci's job at the lottery is secure, Brits or no.)

Chasing History: Did Corbett find time to meet Sandusky victim?

Answer: Corbett did not meet them. They are mostly poor. Also, he would have to explain why he let the molestations to continue for years.

Corbett did not explain why he allowed Sandusky to continue to molest children in PSU campus and destroyed the football program.

How much did Sandusky pay Corbett to earn right to be out of jail and destroy PSU reputation.

It is sad to see 75 PSU players associate with Corbett who destroyed the football program by letting Sandusky to molest children in their locker room.

Has Corbett the Incompetent found time to meet with Sandusky's victims? Probably not because they wouldn't attend a fundraiser.
