Yang remains 3 shots in front after third round of U.S. Women's Open

Amy Yang fired a 1-under-par 69 to maintain her three-stroke lead over Stacy Lewis after three rounds of the U.S. Women's Open at Lancaster Country Club.

Amy Yang, playing in the final pairing with Stacy Lewis during Saturday's third round of the U.S. Women's Open, matched Lewis' 1-under-par 69 at Lancaster Country Club and maintained her 3-stroke lead after 54 holes.

Yang, 25, seeking her first major championship, enters Sunday's final round with a score of 8-under 202, the second-lowest 54-hole total in U.S. Women's Open history. Juli Inkster holds the record of 201, which was set in 1999.

Yang carded four birdies and three bogeys during her round, the same breakdown as Lewis, who was at 205 in her hunt for her first Women's Open triumph. Lewis, 30, already has won two majors – the 2011 Kraft Nabisco and the 2013 Women's British Open.

The next two spots in the standings were occupied by stars on the Asian tours. In Gee Chun, the leading money winner this year on the Korean LPGA Tour, had a 68 for a 206 total. Shiho Oyama, a veteran Japan LPGA player, carded a 71 for 207.

Defending champion Michelle Wie, fighting some discomfort in her injured left hip, posted six birdies in a round of 68 that put her at 208, part of a four-way tie that included two-time Open champion Inbee Park. Park, the world's No. 1 player, fired a 70.

Yang and Lewis will play in the final pairing on Sunday. This will be the third time that Yang is playing in the final group since 2010.
