Robert Allenby might have made the shot of the AT&T National at Aronimink, barring any late drama involving whoever the eventual champion is, when he had a hole-in-one on the 195-yard par-3 14th.
At that point, he pulled himself into a tie for second-place at 9-under.
Allenby started his round at 3-under and his final-round 65 left him at 8-under, good for a tie for fifth when he finished his round. Nick Watney led at 12-under at the time.
Allenby mixed in four birdies to go along with the hole-in-one and one bogey.
On Sunday, he was much better with the putter than he had been in his previous two rounds. He used just 26 putts to complete his round, lowered from 33 on Saturday and 30 on Friday.
