S.J. man charged with trying to kill girlfriend
Inquirer staff writer Sam Wood reports:
A South Jersey man has been charged with attempted murder after he strangled his girlfriend and threw her from the balcony of a Marlton apartment building, police say.
Brett Picciotti, 26, of Berlin, is being held on $250,000 bail at the Burlington County Jail.
Police said an argument between Picciotti and his 26-year-old girlfriend erupted into violence about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the woman’s apartment at The Hollows on Woodhollow Drive in Evesham Township.
Picciotti allegedly throttled the woman with his hands then picked her up and threw her from a second story balcony.
Picciotti fled and police later found him at a relative's shore house in Brigantine.
The woman, who was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, was not seriously injured, police said.

I am so tired of reading these types of stories! How is it that some men have it in their minds that violence is a suitable tool for resolving conflict in a relationship? This couple must have been having some serious problems before this, and someone should have just walked away from this toxic relationship. Now he's going to jail, and she has to live with the trauma of recovering from a murder attempt by someone she loved. How sad. cosmosmom

Attempted murder should carry the same penalty as murder. Just because you did not get it right does not mean the law should go easy on you. Let him off easy and next time the incompetant loser may keep his hands on her throat a little longer and throw her from a higher building. This is probalby already the crime of the century in Marlton. towman
