Inquirer staff report:

A police officer shot in the shoulder over the weekend has been moved to intensive care and is reported in stable condition after apparently suffering a setback in his recovery.

Police Officer Ashley Hoggard, who had been reported in good condition last night, was expected to be released from Temple University Hospital today.

But police this morning said the 26-year-old officer had been moved back to intensive care, where he is in stable condition.

FOX-29 TV quoted Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey as saying Hoggard had developed some internal bleeding.

Police are looking for the gunman who shot Hoggard during a gunbattle that left three other people wounded outside a bar at Broad and Somerset Streets around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.
