Woman reports attack at Haverford College

Inquirer staff writer Robert Moran reports:

Police are investigating a reported sexual assault of a female student on a nature trail at Haverford College this afternoon.
At 4 p.m., a passerby reported hearing someone crying for help near the Ardmore Ice Skating Rink parking lot, said college spokesman Chris Mills.
The woman reported that she was approached by an older white male wearing a long-sleeve shirt and gloves, Mills said. The man said he had a gun, though she saw no visible firearm.
She was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
"Community members are being asked to travel in groups or ask for a security escort when alone," Mills said.
