Visitors from the Big Screen

It’s more than a little weird that the two stars of America's hottest movie show up at the Television Critics Association Press Tour with regular roles in new TV series.

But there was Ron Perlman, who plays Hellboy under all that makeup in last week’s top-grossing movie, flogging the new FX show,

And his girlfriend in the movie, Selma Blair, will be here over the weekend flogging her new NBC show,

Perlman plays Clay Morrow, big boss of a motorcycle club (call it a gang, and they’ll kill you) that runs guns and blows up buildings and people. Come to think of it, they might kill you anyway.

It’s dark and exciting, as you’ve come to expect from FX, and wait till you see Katey Sagal (

) as a hard-nosed motorcycle mama. She may be the producer’s wife, but she's good and scary anyway.

There may be more Hellboy in Perlman's future (the current smash is

), but not right this minute.

“I wouldn't be surprised if lawyers are talking to agents are talking to the studio executives” about

,

and

, Perlman said, “but I’m not privy to those conversations, so I’m just spit-balling. My schedule is I’m happily very, very busy doing this show, enjoying the crap out of it."

Drea De Matteo, who was Christopher’s girlfriend Adriana in

, is the ex-wife of one of the gang — sorry, club — members in

.

She must be a glutton for punishment. Silvio blew the poor thing to bits as she tried to crawl away in the woods on HBO.

On FX, she’s bound by restraints as she gets to shake, shiver and foam at the mouth after shooting up way too much meth.
