Trenton firefighter dies; was stricken during rescue

A Trenton firefighter who suffered an apparent heart attack while rescuing a man from a burning home on Feb. 9 has died.

The Associated Press reports:

A Trenton firefighter who suffered an apparent heart attack while rescuing a man from a burning home on Feb. 9 has died.

Officials say Manny Rivera, 43, climbed a ladder to reach a man who was dangling from a window. The firefighter collapsed after bringing the man down and remained in a coma at
St. Francis Medical Center.

Trenton Fire Director Richard Laird Jr. announced the death of the  father of five today.
