Inquirer staff writer Zoe Tillman reports:

A man wanted on a narcotics charge killed himself yesterday afternoon after a two-hour stand-off with Bensalem Township police during which he asked cops to shoot him.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, barricaded himself in a room at the Lincoln Motel on Route 1 around 3:20 p.m. when he saw police outside.

The officers were investigating a car whose owner was wanted for narcotics delivery in Hilltown Township, and was also listed by police as “an endangered armed suicidal person.”

Police attempted to negotiate with the man, who was armed with a 9 mm handgun. During the stand-off he expressed suicidal intentions, at one point asking officers to come in and shoot him.

After two hours, the man shot himself and was dead by the time police entered the room.

THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN INJUSTICE OF ANY KIND, BUT THE LOSS OF LIFE IS SAD. THIS PERSON WAS AT THE END OF HIS ROPE OF HOPE. THIS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A PROFESSIONAL CRIMINAL. THIS PERSON SEEMS TO HAVE NOT KNOWN ANY OTHER WAY OUT. IT SHOULD BE SO CLEAR TO THE GENUINE CRIMINALS. FOR HIS FAMILY; MAY GOD STRENGTHEN THEM ALL, AND GIVE THEM PEACE.

Thanks for helping out the taxpayers. I'd rather see it end this way than having to spend my tax dollars to keep him locked up.

Maybe he shouldn't have been doing things that ended others lives.. It's sad that another kid is dead, but i'm glad he is off our streets, and can't hurt anyone else!
