Sugar House Casino gets first major building permit

The developers of the Sugar House Casino have obtained their first major construction permit to begin work at the gaming hall’s Delaware River site.

Inquirer Staff Report:

The developers of the Sugar House Casino have obtained their first major construction permit to begin work at the gaming hall's Delaware River site.

The issuance of the foundation permit came three days after the state Supreme Court appointed a special master to resolve disputes between the developer and the city over construction that have delayed work on the multi-million dollar project.

"We are very excited that we are moving forward in our development process and we look forward to working cooperatively with the city to build a dynamic project, of which we can all be proud," said Greg Carlin, CEO of HSP Gaming LP, the developer.
