A 100-year-old man was attacked by a robber who stole his groceries and $30, according to a report on

A police lieutenant is quoted as saying that after throwing the victim to ground, the assailant struck the man's against the sidewalk.

The location given was the 6700 block of Grovers Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

The victim was hospitalized and released, and was expected to fully recover.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Southwest Detectives at 215-686-3183.
