Police seek motive in slaying of teen in W. Philly

Investigators this morning have no suspects or motive in the slaying of a teenage boy in West Philadelphia last night.

Inquirer staff writer Sam Wood reports:

Investigators this morning have no suspects or motive in the slaying of a teenage boy in West Philadelphia last night.

Halim Lindsey 16, was shot multiple times by an unknown gunman on the 500 block of South Redfield Street shortly before 9 p.m.

Police responding to a report of a person with a gun found Lindsey mortally wounded.

Medics transported Lindsey, of the 6200 Spruce Street, to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at 10 p.m.
