Nutter to KYW radio: Give Vick a chance

In a live interview this morning on KYW radio, Mayor Nutter defended the Eagles decision to sign quarterback Michael Vick, saying he's paid his debt to society following his conviction for killing dogs and deserves a chance to play football again. "There has to be something to redemption and salvation," Nutter said. "I think Michael Vick still haswork to do and still should demonstrate his remorse...He's an ex-offender. We have a number of ex-offenders in the city."

The mayor said Vick could work with children and teach them not to become involved with organized dog fighting. He said the former Atlanta Falcons star quarterback could volunteer for animal rights groups like the humane society.

"The issue now is," Nutter said, "what does he do going forward and how does he have a positive impact on this city,"

Psst...Hey Mayor Nutter...Michael Vick is a Psycopath. If your first and only fall from the straight and narrow path (so far) is to hang, drown, electrocute...torture to death numerous large anamals, etc...WARNING! The "Ron Mexico" thing...not good! The total no remorse thing and the parroting of his handlers tripe...look out! Our newest Eagle also has those dead...predator eyes! Mr. Mayor...back up slowly towards the door and Don't make direct eye contact! I'll cover you. When you get clear...please remember...we'll be reading about Vick again...and it won't be in the Sport Section! He ain't done committ'en VIOLENT CRIMES yet. He likes the "Blood Sports"...and he likes "the Thug Life". You blew it again Mr. Mayor. Oh, and please come up with another line besides "I'm Angry". That's been "played", like us...too many times. I feel sorry for Vick's Parole Officer. I don't see this ending well :-( .

Vick could not care less about animals..he is sorry...for getting caught. John Law nailed it with the comment about the "dead predator eyes", I saw that myself. Many many serial killers tortured/killed animals as a child - it's part of the formula profilers use to id them. This man is just a negative and our forever disappointing mayor is an idiot trying to justify the arrival of the vick circus. If this opinion makes me a racist I need to have somebody explain that to me.

sure give him a chance but if really learned his lesson and wants to be part of the human race that's evolved into intelligence, he'd best be a strong advocate against all kinds of abuse against companion animals. He better reach out to the subhumans in North & West Philly.

This man has issues. Plan and simple I don't want to be within 2 feet of this creep. Did we all forget he shot over 50 dogs and buried them in the back yard!

Killing animals the way he did is indicative of a very disturbed personality. Vick may have served his time but Reid got everything backwards. Vick should prove he is indeed a changed man and then Reid might offer potential employment. You don't offer somebody a very lucrative job and link continued employment to proving you have changed. If it were one of us we would have to demonstrate our reformation BEFORE we would get a job like this. Now we know why Reids children are as disturbed as they are.
