Motorcycle crash victim's body recovered from Schuylkill

Divers have recovered the body of a woman who was thrown into the Schuylkill River last night when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger crashed on a bridge in Norristown, officials say.

Divers have recovered the body of a woman who was thrown into the Schuylkill River last night when the motorcycle on which she was a passenger crashed on a bridge in Norristown, officials say.

The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on the Dannehower Bridge on Route 202, police said.

Working in the darkness, divers found the woman's body about 1:45 a.m.

The man operating the motorcycle was thrown onto the road and was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His condition has not been reported.

Their names have not been released.

Police are trying to determine why the motorcycle crashed.
