Homicide detectives are investigating the slaying of a man in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia.

Inquirer staff writer Sam Wood reports:

Homicide detectives this morning are investigating the slaying of a 23-year-old man in the Manuta section of West Philadelphia.

 The man, whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times in the face, chest and arms about 12:30 a.m. as he sat in a running 2002 Subaru near the intersection of Aspen and North Dekalb Streets.

Police found the man mortally wounded on the street and rushed him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m.

Investigators have made no arrests and have no motive in the killing.
