Man, 30, shot dead on Chester street

Inquirer staff report:

Chester police are investigating the shooting death of 30-year-old man last night near the intersection of West 7th and Parker Streets.

Officers reponding to a report of a shooting found Joseph Bookman suffering multiple gunshot wounds on the street about 7:35 p.m., Capt. Joseph Massi said. Bookman was pronounced dead at the Crozer Chester Medical Center Trauma Unit.

Detectives have interviewed several potential witnesses in an effort to identify the gunman, Massi said in a statement.
