Good Morning Philadelphia: Protestors block traffic at Convention Center work site

A group of African American construction contractors and laborers picketed during this morning’s rushhour at the work site for expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, blocking through traffic on Race and Arch Streets.

Jamal Johnson, a contractor from West Philadelphia, said the group was protesting the “citywide problem of exclusionary practices when it comes to the awarding of contracts to African Americans.”
