Getting in from Jersey: Transit delays, heavy bridge traffic
The Delaware River Port Authority has issued the following advisory for the PATCO line and the bridges:
All parking lots are full at Patco stations.
Trains are operating at capacity.
Two-hour delays getting into the station to buy tickets because of long lines.
Patco continues running six car trains every six minutes.
Generally speaking, Patco is being pushed to its operational limit.
Traffic is very heavy on the Walt Whitman bridge westbound into Philadelphia.
Traffic is backed up on the toll plaza east to Front Street.
For both Patco and the bridge, supervisors are staffing toll booths, ticket booths and doing everything possible to try to make everything run as smoothly as possible.
