Female finger found on Shore town deck

Police at the Jersey Shore reportedly are investigating the discovery of what appeared to be a decomposed female finger on the deck of a home in Brielle.

Inquirer staff report:

Police at the Jersey Shore reportedly are investigating the discovery of what appeared to be a decomposed female finger on the deck of a home in Brielle.

The Asbury Park Press reports that authorities believe the finger was dropped by a bird.

The finger has been sent to the Monmouth County Medical Examiners office, the newspaper said.

Police think the finger could belong to a 72-year-old Alzheimers victim who disappeared while walking on the beach in June. Officials have searched Island Beach State Park looking for her.
