Daniel Rubin writes:
At 15th and JFK, thousands of people jammed the streets around City Hall, celebrating the Phillies first World Series win in 28 years. Police in riot gear were on hand, trying to force their way into the crowd to establish a presence. But they could not do so. Fans danced and jumped on cars that had been moving, but were slowed to a standstill by the massive crowd. Fans shot fireworks over the crowd, 70 feet up in the air. The mood was festive--and nobody was going anywhere, it was that tightly packed.

Somewhere near Maryville, TN, a lone Phillies fan cheers his team but there are no sidewalks and very few street lights, so he cheers alone.
A lone fan in Baltimore is cheering loudly and will be at the parade on Friday. My brother and Mom are watching in Ireland and my Sister in Spain!
I'm near Baltimore too. Come help me flip my neighbor's car!!! Just kidding. As a 12 year old I stood at 5-points on Cottman Avenue after the 1980 win. Those memories came back to me tonight!
Six fans in Herndon, VA are celebrating!!!! We love the Phillies and wish we were in PA now.
A Phillies fan in DC is streaking down Pennsylvania Avenue, lighting trashcans on fire.....
BURHOLME! I was at 5-points in 1980 too!!! I grew up in Lawndale but now am sentenced to life in Herndon, VA. Cardinal Doughterty class of 1982!! I loved your car-tipping comment. Are you going up on Friday?
Celebrating with my Dad in Harrisburg - did a shot when we won. Will be in Philly for the parade - missing the festivities in Philly now - but glad I got to share the moment with my 81 year old Dad.
Die hard Phillies phan in Fort Stinkin' Desert, AZ is very, very, ..., very happy tonight. Left in '84, but will love the Phightin's 4ever. Still remember jumping off the back of the train with my brother and father at Lehigh station to see the Phils at Connie Mack. I never thought I'd see another one of these in my lifetime, but miracles *do* happen! Enjoy it, Philadelphia!!
Im in New Zealand and cheered all alone.. I even cried, was 10 yrs old for the last win growing up in Fairmount
