Elkins Park man shot dead in W. Oak Lane

Inquirer staff writer Sam Wood reports:

Philadelphia police this morning are investigating the shooting death of an Elkins Park man in the West Oak Lane section of the city

Police were called about 9 p.m. yesterday to the 7300 block of Bouvier Street and found the victim on the street suffering a gunshot wound to the side of his chest.

Ricardo Reinal Irizarry, 20, was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:21 p.m., police said.

Investigators have no motive or suspect in the slaying.
