Inquirer staff writer Cynthia Burton reports:

New Jersey's gubernatorial race remains locked in a dead heat between Democratic Gov. Corzine and Republican Christopher J. Christie, according to the latest poll released today.

The Quinnipiac University poll of 1,533 likely voters put Christie at 42 percent and Corzine at 40 percent with independent Chris Daggett getting 12 percent. The poll taken between Oct. 27 and yesterday has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.

Hmmm, who should I vote for: Moe, Larry or Curly?

Even if Corzine wins, this will be a huge blow to the democrats, because he will have more voters voting against him, then for him- despite an overwhelming democratic voter base, tens of millions of dollars in national & personal campaign money, many trips by the president and VP, and poltically self serving "stimulus" cash phot-ops. Even in victory, Corzine must concede defeat.

I have to admit, the best commercial by far was the one by Chris Daggett's campaign featuring Corzine and Christie on the escalator.

If Christie can't win this election it will emphatically show the republican party is all but dead.

Kelpod, No I think it would prove to the dems that they can put up the most undesirable candidate and still win if they pull out all the stops. A win is a win. If the Phils had won it in the ninth last night by hitting 6 straight pop ups that hit a seagull and dropped in for a hit I would ignore their obvious deficiencies from earlier in the game.

Actually I am looking at who has the best Lt Governor since I think either one will be indicted and out of office in 6 months. And why didn't Rutgers or some other NJ college do the poll instead of a small CT college that is UCONN's opening season doormat each year in basketball?

towman...sure, if Corzine wins, he wins. That is not the point. If he wins he will do so with far more voters voting AGAINST him then FOR him.....and that clearly is a "no confidence" vote considering NJ is an overwhelmingly democratic state and his campaign has spent endless cash and received Presidential support- both at campaign stops and photo-op political bribe cash (stimulus).

Christie has really shown us nothing - but then again look at the first two letters - it is the party of "NOthing" to offer. I do agree with Rod72,, if Christie can't win this one (which I think he will) - move over Republican party,,,, It's official,,,,, So called Moderate Pinnochio Joe Scarborough and his clown Glenn Beck run the party -- and Sara Palin is their Princess.

Not surprisingly, the NJ Democratic State Committee has been funding the Daggett robocalls: http://bit.ly/2dyEIt As a matter of fact, Daggett probably lives in Corzine's pocket.

Rod: The reason why it's difficult for any Republican or conservative to win in NJ is because our state has become one big urban area. We've had so many people move from NYC, Philly, AC, Camden, Jersey City, Newark, etc. throughout state in recent decades that there's barely an area which remains unaffected. These folks have brought w/ them attitudes forged within big-city Democratic machines. This has resulted in a virtually ubiquitous and an unacceptable level of gov't corruption, entitlement mentality, sky-high taxes, laxity w/ regard to crime, and aggressive unionism. One has to wonder why, if those things are so desirable, why such people moved from the cities in the first place.

Rod72. I agree that Christie will win, but even if he loses at this close margin, in a state where registered Dems outnumber Republicans more than 2 to 1, it will show exectly the opposite; the ever weakening Democrat control. C'mon man, think before you post.

If you elect Corzine, you get what you deserve, NJ. Good luck to you.

If NJ votes Corzine, they will wake up Wednesday facing a future of more unemployment, higher taxes... and free mammograms! Yay!
